Now that the snow is behind us, and the warmer temps are staying around, I love walking around our backyard admiring the flowers popping up.  Tulips and daffodils are blooming and the grass is getting greener and growing.  Soon enough, summer will be here and we will want to spend every waking minute outside enjoying the beauty of the summer months and warmer temps.  But, in the meantime, on these crisp spring nights I throw on a sweater and sit down at our puzzle table in the living room with my girls and we enjoy working on our new LEGO Brick Botanicals 1000-piece puzzle.

"Everything’s coming up roses...and tulips, daisies and more with the LEGO® Brick Botanicals puzzle (Jan. 31, $17.95). This 1,000-piece puzzle comes together to reveal a stunning 25 x 20-inch image inspired by the wildly popular LEGO® Botanical collection. Perfect for the whole family, but just as fun to take on solo, this puzzle showcases the creativity and delight integral to the LEGO® brand. Once completed, this cheerful puzzle will be a dazzling reminder to stop and smell the flowers." View the entire Chronicle Books x LEGO® line at chroniclebooks.com/LEGO

The Easter bunny brought the girls some cool LEGO flowers, which they were both quick to put together and now have in vases on their school desks to admire.  So, it was only fitting to work on a puzzle together that shows off the many different LEGO flowers available to build and admire. I never have any luck with indoor plants -- either I water them too much or not enough, so I am reluctant to buy plants when I see them during the spring/summer months.  But, I am really loving these LEGO flowers as they will last forever, and never need tending to -- well, they need to be dusted here and there -- but, no real tending to or need for a green thumb. :-)

Out of all the puzzles we have worked on lately, I have to say this LEGO Brick Botanicals 1,000-Piece Puzzle  available now from Chronicle Books, is our favorite.  It offers just the right amount of challenge with the different blooms (just look at all the white and purple flowers scattered about), and once done would look perfect framed or left out on a coffee table for everyone to admire.  We are halfway through the puzzle, and look forward to working on each evening after dinner. It is a great way to spend quality time together, as well as unwind after a long day of work and school.

And, with Mother's Day fast approaching, and even graduation and end of the school year for kids, this puzzle for make for a great gift idea for puzzle lovers.  My mom loves puzzles, and we already picked her up this puzzle for Mother's Day, as she has helped us when she comes to visit, placing puzzle pieces here and there. I know she will love working on this puzzle with my father, and it will keep their minds sharp, as they admire the LEGO blooms in this puzzle, as well as the LEGO blooms my girls have gifted them to display in their house.
