My oldest daughter and I just finished reading the first book in the "The Little Bad Book" series, and we both loved it! Filled with puzzles and riddles to sole, this interactive book was fun to read together before bedtime, after a long day of work and school. Usually my girls don't like to read with me as they are independent readers now -- but, occasionally they will find a book that I am either sent for review, or that I pick up for them, and ask to read it with me. My oldest saw this book and had no idea what it was about. It had a scary monster on the cover...but, the description of the book on the back cover caught her attention and she asked to read it with me. How could I say, "No." We spaced the book out over a week, and had fun each night trying to solve the riddles and puzzles to find which page to turn to next. When we reached the end, we both had smiles on our faces as it was a great ending. My daughter asked if I knew when the next book would be coming out, and I surprised her with the copy I was sent last month to review. I said we now had another fun The Little Bad Book to read together, and she smiled.

Last week, we read THE LITTLE BAD BOOK #2: EVEN MORE DANGEROUS! (Delacorte Press / on sale October 11), and found ourselves loving this book even more than the first one. It is full of spooky fun, and was a great way to get excited about the upcoming Halloween season. Even my reluctant middle grade reader sat with us to read this book, as she saw how much fun her sister and I had with the first book. She snatched up the first book after we finished reading it and read it in one day, as she couldn't put it down. She really liked the interactive elements of the book and how she had to solve riddles and puzzles to know which page to turn to next. And, when her sister told her there was another book to read, she wanted to make sure she had the first book read before we started on the second.

Here is more about the "The Little Bad Book #2," which arrives in store on 10/11:

Just like the first book, we really enjoyed this one. The logic puzzles were tricky and had us reaching for a sheet of paper to try and figure them out, so we could move on with the story. Both of my girls stayed engaged, and looked forward to our together time each evening reading this book, and trying to navigate our way through the mystery.

If you have a reluctant reader in your life, or your kids like books with mystery and puzzles to solve, then I highly recommend you check out the upcoming "The Little Bad Book #2," which releases on 10/11.  This is one book they will not fight you to read. And, once they start reading it, it will be hard to put it down. And, who know...maybe you will get lucky and they will ask you to read it with them.  :-)  My girls and I can't wait for additional books in the series to release -- and, once your child reads this book, they will want the first book if they haven't read it yet, as well as any forthcoming books -- I guarantee it!
