I have had the opportunity to review and share some amazing books with my girls this past year, that were sent to me for review. All summer long, my girls were flying through books that were arriving at our door, quicker than I could write up the reviews. And, then fall came out of nowhere, and more new fall releases started coming in, and my girls were so happy as this meant new installments of book series they have fallen in love with over the years, as well as being introduced to new series for the to start collecting. Thanks to the kind folks at Sterling Publishing, my youngest daughter has found a new middle grade fantasy series that she can't get enough of, written by Katie & Kevin Tsang.
She got hooked on the new The Dragon Realm Series, by reading the first book, "Dragon Mountain," and then was quick to ask me to get her a copy of the second book, "Dragon Legend" to read. Both of these books she turned out in a couple hours time, as she couldn't put the books down, and had to see what happened next. She is a huge Percy Jackson and Beast Quest fan, so I knew she would love this new middle-grade fantasy series. But, I had no idea just how hooked on this new series she would get. We have owned these two books for a short time, and already she has read them a handful of times each. And, after she finishes each book, she is quick to come talk my ear off about favorite parts and characters from each of the books, before sharing what story lines she thinks will unravel in book 3 and beyond.
Both of my girls have read these books, and have shared them with friends who are also fans of middle-grade fantasy books. And, once their friends are done reading the books, they can't wait to talk about the books with my girls, and are so thankful to the girls for introducing them to this new series. With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to make sure you had on your radar some great middle-grade books for your kids. While toys are nice under the tree, I find gifts like books and educational gifts are enjoyed more by my girls, long after the tree is taken down and put away. My girls love getting lost in a good book, and these two books in the new The Dragon Realm Series are a real treat, and keep my girls engaged and entertained, as they read the books cover to cover.
