My Pixicade Back-to-School Party Was a Huge Hit with Parents and Kids! (Review) #Pixicade #BitOGenius #DrawSnapPlay #Tryazon

Disclosure: I was provided with a sample and promotional product to giveaway after being selected as a Tryazon party host. However, all views shared are mine and mine alone.

Two weeks ago I planning a fun Pixicade party for family and friends to learn about with a hands on experience at my house. But, Mother Nature had different plans -- and, the day of my scheduled party, we were hunkering down for Hurricane Henri, which made landfall in CT and surrounding states.  Luckily, though, before the power went out for many people, I was able to get a zoom party in to demo Pixicade, let party goers (kids and adults) try their hand at making their own games to play and share with the group, and then offer up one Pixicade box set to one lucky person.

Even though I didn't get to have people over in person like I had hoped, it was a fun Pixicade party, and I want to extend a thank you to the folks at Tryazon for selecting me for this party and sending along 2 samples kits (one for me to keep and one to give away).

So, you are probably asking what is Pixicade? And, why should you know about it, and own it?  Well, here is a little background on this super fun mobile game maker that kids ages 6+ will love -- I know as my girls can't get enough of Pixicade, and neither than their friends -- all 12 that got on a Zoom call to experience and this fun and easy mobile game maker for themselves.

"Pixicade Mobile Game Maker sets a new standard in both entertainment and learning. There is an appeal for a wide spectrum of interests: kids that love drawing, video games or creative activities...they all are amazed at seeing their creations come to life!

Parents love it because kids will actually put down their phones or tablets and pick up markers and paper. Kids love it because they can draw their own games, share them with their friends, and play them on their phone or tablet. Pixicade stores as many games as you create.

The only thing more impressive than how innovative Pixicade is would be how extremely easy it is to use. Kids get to draw a picture of an idea for a video game using colored markers and real paper. Then, using the Pixicade app available for iOS and android, all that is needed is to snap a pic of the drawing!

From there, the image is brought to life as an actual video game that can be played on a phone or tablet! The app only requires a rear facing camera and an internet connection. (iOS 8.0 and up, android 6.0 and up) The ultimate “wow” factor for hands-on fun, Pixicade was created by a high school art teacher who saw imagination and creativity in students decreasing. Pixicade is also a STEM.org authenticated educational product. Pixicade Mobile Game Maker is unlike anything else on the market, and sure to get your kids’ imaginations working in new ways while keeping them engaged the whole time."

Since Hurricane Henri, I was able to plan another in-home Pixicade party, and I have to say it was well worth the wait, as it was even more fun having a house full of kids over creating these amazing one of a kind games that they were able to share with one another and others who have a Pixicade account and app downloaded their Apple or Android devices.  In just 2 hours, they were able to create, play and challenge each other with their newly created games -- 18 games to be exact! :-)

With most kids having their own phones or iPads it was easy to get everyone up with their own Pixicade account the night of the Zoom party.  And, once the kids came together, they were already pros with navigating the app, having played many of the uploaded and shared games online. It only took one time showing them how to take clear photos for uploading, and then they were off having a blast and becoming mobile game developers in no time.  All the kids were so proud of their games, and loved showing them off and hearing what their friends had to say about them.

As a parent, I really loved how Pixicade incorporates STEM and Art in to this fund hands on mobile game maker. And the Pixicade box set contains everything you need to get started right out of the box, making your own mobile games.  You get 1 new game type, 16 game templates, 50 game stickers, and a bonus set of markers. Note, you need these specific markers in order for the app to recognize your drawing and create the game accordingly.  So, be sure you have them handy when getting ready to create your own Pixicade mobile games.

Another great feature of the Pixicade app that I love is that there are parental controls so you can control if your kids can share their games to family and friends or in the Pixicade arcade.  I didn't have to worry when my girls were off in their rooms creating their own games that they would be buying things to level up, etc., or chatting with people they shouldn't.

As a homeschooling parent, I can say that this is such a fun STEAM set to use with our schooling. Both of my girls love coding and making games and apps, but this adds the art component that really makes it unique and one of a kind.  Both of my girls love to draw and make things, so pairing this with STEM really makes it an all around amazing mobile game maker that really is a game changer in the STEAM realm of products available.

I could go on and on about how much fun we had at our Pixicade Zoom party or the meetup at my house this past week.  But, instead, why not check out the Pixicade website to learn more and order your own set to share with your kids. Once you see how easy it is for your kids to create and play their own games, you will want to gift Pixicade to other kids in the family and also gift for your kids' friend's birthdays.  I have a running list now of kids I want to share Pixicade with. And, with the holidays fast approaching, Pixicade will make gift giving so much easier, as I know it will make a great gift idea for all the kids I will be shopping for.  This is one of those gifts that will be played with once and then never again. Instead, you will see your kids want to design, play and share mobile games day in and day out.

We have had the Pixicade mobile game maker for a few weeks now, and my girls continue to play with it daily, and ask to use this in place of wanting to play other paid gaming apps.  They have so much fun with it, and love seeing what others come up with, as it inspires them to be creative and make new games or changes to games they have previously created. I love seeing them problem solve and really get into the design of their games. And, just the smile on their faces when they are demoing the games for my husband and I says it all -- Pixicade is great, and a must have for kids ages 6+.
