DVD Release Features 13 Episodes from the Animated Series’ First Season

My girls grew up listening to me read Dr. Seuss books to them. And, then as they started to learn how to read, they kept reaching for Dr. Seuss books including Hop on Pop and Green Eggs and Ham.  In addition to loving all the Dr. Seuss books, my girls used to go crazy watching the Dr. Seuss animated series on PBS, as well as watched the Lorax movie, time and time again.  So, when I was asked to review the new "Green Eggs and Ham: The Complete First Season," which released back on Dec. 1st from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, I knew two girls who would be excited to help me review this complete first season.

We received this DVD the other day, and the girls couldn't wait to sit down and watch all 13 episodes of this animated series. I am surprised that we hadn't seen this series before.  I ended up sitting down with my girls to watch them episodes, and we found ourselves hooked after the first few minutes. The series was so good that we ended up binging the entire DVD in 2 days. After we watched the DVD, my daughter did a search online and came running to tell me that season 2 would be coming to Netflix.  She was so excited, as was her sister, and can't wait to see what other fun adventures these fun characters go on.

If your family loves all things Dr. Seuss, I highly recommend you checking out the new "Green Eggs and Ham: The Complete First Season," available now on DVD. This animated series really is fun and will get your kids excited about Seuss. My girls have since gone back and read through some of their favorite rhyming Dr. Seuss books, as this animated series really sparked their imaginations and had them thinking about all the fun Seuss stories they read when they were younger.  With the holidays fast approaching, this new DVD would also make for a great stocking stuffer, or paired with a few classic Dr. Seuss books.

More about this new release:

"Prepare to go on an unforgettable adventure with Green Eggs and Ham, the animated family comedy series, which will be released on DVD December 1, 2020 by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Inspired by the Dr. Seuss classic, Green Eggs and Ham is the Daytime Emmy® Award-winning series executive-produced by Ellen DeGeneres (The Ellen DeGeneres Show) and features an all-star cast including Michael Douglas (The Kominsky Method), Adam Devine (The Righteous Gemstones), Keegan-Michael Key (Friends from College), Eddie Izzard (Hannibal), Jillian Bell (Bless the Harts), Ilana Glazer (Broad City) and Diane Keaton (Something’s Gotta Give).  This release will include all 13 season one episodes. Green Eggs and Ham: The Complete First Season is priced to own at $18.94 SRP ($19.98 Canada).

Green Eggs and Ham: The Complete First Season will also be available to own on Digital for $14.99 SRP (US and Canada) on November 10, 2020.

A chance meeting at a diner and a briefcase switch-up, results in two unlikely companions Sam (Devine) and Guy (Douglas) getting mixed up on an adventure that takes them on a road trip to save an endangered animal – the elusive Chickeraffe – from a far-off zoo. The two mismatched souls cross paths with the overprotective Michellee (Keaton), whose daughter, EB (Glazer) desperately wants a pet and falls in love with the Chickeraffe…despite her mother’s fears that it will eat off her face (it won’t). As Michellee’s walled-up heart connects with the heart-hardened Guy, a laborious love story begins. With the foursome also unknowingly pursued by a bounty-hunter Goat (Turturro), two bad guys, McWinkle (Wright) and Gluntz (Bell) and Snerz (Izzard) a tiny, evil overlord who’s out to get the Chickeraffe as his ultimate trophy, they set out on a cross-country road trip, learning to try new things along the way – like hope, friendship…and a certain delectable dish!

Green Eggs and Ham features gorgeous hand-drawn animation that gives the series a very rich, nostalgic and beautiful look. The star-studded voice cast is outstanding and the writing is superb. It’s a series that will appeal to viewers of all ages,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Senior Vice President, Originals, Animation and Family Marketing. She added, “If you’re a fan of Dr. Seuss, this is a title you won’t want to miss.”

Inspired by the classic book by Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham debuted on Netflix in November 2019 with strong performance among virtually all demos. The series earned a Daytime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special.
