I am a child of the 70's and still remember sitting around the television with my family and watching Evel Knievel attempting to make all these death defying jumps over cars, rings of fire, etc. If you grew up in the 70's and even 80's, then you have probably seen this daredevil He was truly a show man and had everyone glued to the television screen, holding their breaths, under his cycle landed on the ground with him safely. Ahh, the rush of excitement you would feel and the cheering that came as this amazing daredevil soared through the air. It truly was a magical sight to see. And, now as we head into the holiday season, I wanted to share with you a fun new toy that would be perfect to gift to fans of Evel Knievel.

I was recently sent a sample of this toy to check out, and I have to tell you, as soon as I saw the box, it felt like was a kid again. And, then when I took the stunt cycle toy out of the box, I wasn't sure if I wanted to play with it or display it. It was super cool to look at and the retro feel of this toy was spot on to wind up gear toys my brothers and I had as kids. But, then, my girls came over to see what I was looking at, and wanted to try out Evel Knievel for themselves. We ended up setting up a little ramp in the living room, as it wouldn't be right to have Evel just ride around on flat ground. With a quick wind up on the side of the toy base, Evel was off.
He gained speed as he rode up the ramp, and then whoosh, he was flying through the air, and skimmed our Christmas tree. Even though he didn't wind up on his two wheels the first time around, Evel was ready to take to the ramp one more time. As the crowd cheered --- "Go Evel, you can do it!" -- well, it was just me cheering, but come on, it felt like a crowd of people in the room, or so I imagined that! :-)
Evel soared up the ramp and got more air than his first ride, and then came down so effortlessly, landing on both wheels and riding to a side stop. It was amazing and so worth taking this stunt cycle toy out of the box to play with it.

That night, I ended up taking a slow motion video with my phone and sent it off to my dad to show him my new toy. As soon as he saw the white jumpsuit, he knew immediately who this daredevil and show man was. He loved the video, especially how I showed it was a wind up toy like in years past. Also the detailing of Evel was spot on with retro toys of the 70's.
Before I could message my dad back to ask what he thought of the toy and stunt, he had already messaged me asking where I got the toy, as he wanted one. He also said he would love to get this toy for my brothers and surprise them with it for Christmas. Heck, he even wanted to get them for his grandchildren and introduce them to the greatest stuntman to ever live. I can't wait for my dad to get his Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle toy in the mail, and I know that when my brothers unwrap their Evel toys on Christmas morning, a flood of childhood memories sitting around the black and white television tuning in to watch Evel make a jump, will come rushing back to them, just like it did with me when I saw this awesome toy wind up toy for the first time the other day.
