This advent calendar book is hard cover so it will last for years, and sturdy cardboard lift up flaps can be closed at the end of the season, for storing away until next year.   What I love about this non-candy and non-toy interactive calendar is that it will bring the whole family together as you open up each door to reveal a craft, activity, game, recipe story or more to enjoy together.  Once you reveal the day's surprise, you open the book and read the instruction for completing the holiday-themed activity.   Parents will want to read through the pages and make a list of the supplies they will need to purchase or gather up, so when each day arrives, you can jump right in and complete the activity with your child, and not have to put off as you don't have a craft supply or ingredient for a recipe.

I have already gathered up all the supplies needed to complete all 24 days of advent fun, most of which I had in the pantry or in our craft stash.  I can't wait for Dec. 1st to get here so that the girls can start using this advent calendar.  The first activity is to write a letter to Santa.  And, come Christmas Eve, we will get to read "Twas the Night Before Christmas," before we all head off to bed.  This really is a well put together advent calendar book, and has activities that kids of all ages and adults will love doing together. It will bring your family together and get you all excited to count down on Christmas Day.
