As I mentioned in a previous post earlier today, this year is whizzing right by. Even with all the craziness that is going on with Covid and everything else, it seems like I blinked and the months flew by.  Can you believe that is already October? While I know we all want 2020 to be over and everything to go back to normal, we do have a few more months left to 2020.  But, as we count down the months, I wanted to share some great new fall book releases for your to share with your kids now and as holiday gift ideas.  This is my favorite time of the year as so many of my favorite children's publishing groups are releasing new release after new release.  And, even though my girls are reading on their own, this time of year gives me an excuse to snuggle up with them, as we read these new releases sent to us, for review and feature on my blog. :-)  One book that my girls and I recently enjoyed, and that I couldn't wait to share with you all is the new National Geographic Kids Almanac 2021.  Even though this book released back in May, I only recently received, and sat one day last week to read it cover to cover with my girls.   And, by the time we reached the last page of this almanac, they were asking to flip back to some of their favorite parts to take a closer look at the incredible full color photos.

In addition to all the amazing photos to admire, this almanac is chock full of fun and interesting facts about cool technology, amazing animals, extreme exploration, and so much more. There are even fun games and quizzes interspersed throughout the pages of the book, to keep kids of all ages engaged and entertained.  Even though this is almanac and not meant to pick up and read cover to cover in one sitting, once my girls and I started to read it, we couldn't stop reading it, and read all 350 pages in one sitting. :-)  I loved hearing my girls gasp and let out comments like, "Wow, that is so cool," "Amazing!,"  "I can't believe that!," and so many more.  I can see after reading this book with my girls why it is New York Times Best Seller!  It was just a great read, and one book we will definitely be reading time and time again, and incorporating into our homeschool learning.

If you and your kids are fans of National Geographic Kids books, especially their annual almanacs, and don't own this new 2021 release, you will definitely want to get your hands on a copy today to share with yours.  Leave it to National Geographic Kids to outdo themselves year after year with their popular almanacs for kids.  Both of my girls give the Almanac 2021 from National Geographic Kids Books two thumbs up!  Learn more about this book, and others from National Geographic Kids Books here: https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/explore/books/.
