SWIRL & STYLE™ TIE DYE STUDIO MAKER INSPIRES ON-TREND COLORFUL CREATIONS
TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL TIE DYE DAY, APRIL 30th

MSRP: $19.99 | Ages: 6+ | Available at Target and online at Target.com

Has your family been adjusting to the temporary "new normal" of staying in and staying 6 ft. away from family and friends?  While it has been tough, especially for my girls, who want to get together with friends and visit with their Nana and Papa, we have found some creative ways to stay connected, even though we have to stay 6 ft. apart.  We have been doing a lot of ZOOM chats and parties, calling and even sending letters to family and friends, and just enjoying quality time together as a family, as my husband has been working from home and eating three meals a day with us.  My girls have missed a few of their friend's birthday parties, which they were sad about. But, like us, their parents got creative and found ways to celebrate these special birthdays, either with a drive by where everyone decorated signs and held balloons, as they drove by the house and honked and sang happy birthday, to hosting paint night or baking parties through ZOOM, so that the kids could see each, chat and have some fun.

Seeing all the creative ways people have been getting together through ZOOM and other chat platforms, I decided I would host a tie dye party, to get kids (and adults) excited about summer and finally getting out of the house and getting back to enjoying time with family and friends. I shared a link with parents for the Swirl & Style Tie Dye Studio from YULU, which can be ordered online at Target, or picked up in stores, and had them look for plain t-shirts laying around that they could add some color and style to.

I had a stash of white t-shirts I had picked up for my daughter's birthday last year where we also did tie dye shirts, and dropped them off to a handful of people who didn't have supplies.  Then, we all got online the other night and did a little crafting, chatting, laughing and just catching up.  We ended up spending over 2 hours online -- parents and kids having a blast using the Swirl & Style Tie Dye Studio, making our new shirts.  Too bad we had to wait 24-48 hours for the shirts to dry, as we all wanted to see how they came out.  But, the good thing about needing to wait was that we had an excuse to plan another ZOOM meetup to show off our shirts. :-)  And, last night we met online at 7PM and had a blast showing off our cool creations.  By the end of the call, we all agreed that these would be our quarantine shirts that we would sport when we go out and about getting fresh air, as they really came out great, and adding that punch of color we have all been missing in our daily outfits (AKA pajamas and/or sweatpants).  And, once we are able to meet up again, we will have a cookout and everyone will wear their shirts (if they still fit, from all the eating we are doing) and we will grab a group snapshot.  :-)  I love how we were able to take an isolated situation like we are living in right now and put a fun spin on things. The girls were able to see their friends through video, spend time chatting and crafting with them, and we all have fun tie dye shirts now to remember this fun meetup.

In a couple of days, April 30th to be exact, it will be National Tie Dye Day. Why not pick up the Swirl & Style Tie Dye Studio Kit from YULU and gather up a few friends and family through ZOOM (it is free for 40 minutes or less meet ups), and get your tie dye on.

You will have a blast, just like we did, making your shirts, and catching up. And, when all is said and done, plan a fun gathering so that everyone can come decked out in their new tie dye shirts, and you can get a group photo.  We can't wait to get together, but in the meantime, we are already planning another fun tie dye craft night, where we will be making gifts for Mother's and Father's Day. :-) Stay tuned to my social media pages to see what the kids create. :-)
