Do you have a favorite book you like to read with your kids when Christmas rolls around? We have so many books that we love pulling from the bookcase to read, wrap for our holiday book advent, and leave out on the coffee table for family and friends to enjoy when they come to visit.  One book that has become a staple in our family at Christmas is "The Christmas Bear," which is from the illustrator of The Grufallo.  

Like I mentioned in a previous post, my girls are huge fans of The Gruffalo book, and instantly fell in love with The Christmas Bear book as the illustrations are similar to the Gruffalo characters. Plus, the book is a lift the flap book...what kid doesn't like this type of interactive book?  Even though my girls are getting older and reading on their own, they love stumbling upon books that offers an interactive feel, and that is why they love this Christmas book so much.

I don't know about you, but I love when I find sticker, activity and/or coloring books that go with stories/books my girls love to read.  It makes for a more enjoyable reading experience as they can carry over their love for the book in the pages of the activity book, making the story linger in their minds a little bit longer.  My girls really get creative when they follow up reading a book, by doing an activity or coloring book featuring characters from the book.  Usually they will complete the coloring/activity book and then grab sheets of paper and come up with an alternate ending or continuation of a story, adding their own drawings and words.  This happened the other day when I shared this cute sticker book with them. They were amazed that there was a sticker book available, based on one of their favorite Christmas books, as well as how the book had over 400 stickers to dress up sticker scenes with. In addition to placing the stickers on the scenes, this activity book also includes fun games, puzzles, jigsaws and more to keep kids entertained and engaged for hours.  My girls really enjoyed this activity book and were quick to add the others brilliant sticker books in this series by The Gruffalo illustrator to their wish lists for Santa, in hopes to get some or all. They want to be able to read the book and then do the fun sticker book that goes with each.  Seeing just how much fun they had with this one, I, too, am hoping leaves some under the tree for them to enjoy. :-)
