(Also available in paperback and Kindle formats)

Does your family have certain holiday movies you have to watch each Christmas?  For us, we kick off December by watching the different Home Alone movies, and will continue to watch them when they air on television and during our family movie nights, leading up to Christmas. This was one of the first holiday movies my girls got hooked on, and now they look forward to seeing Kevin pulling all those tricks on the bad guys as he tries to protect his house, while hoping his family comes back for him to celebrate Christmas.  The first Home Alone movie is the best one in my eyes, but my girls have grown to like the second release, which has Kevin on a solo adventure in the Big Apple.  Using his dad's credit card, the takes fancy limo rides, checks in a hotel, goes sightseeing, and so much more.  And, if alone in NYC wasn't enough to make this beloved sequel to Home Alone a fun and entertaining movie for families to enjoy, Harry and Marty, the two burglars from the first movie are in town, too!  If you have seen the Home Alone 2 movie and loved it, then you will want to pick up the new picture book release from Quirk Books to share with your family.

About the book:

"YIKES! Kevin did it again! The beloved sequel to Home Alone is now an adorable picture book for the whole family.

It’s the holidays and Kevin doesn’t want to go on his family vacation to Florida. Amid the chaos and confusion of the airport, he accidentally boards the wrong plane and ends up alone (again!) in New York City.

Kevin goes sightseeing, checks into a hotel, and enjoys limo rides, all courtesy of his dad’s credit card. But then he makes a shocking discovery: the burglars who tried to rob his house last year are back, and this time they plan to rob a toy store on Christmas Eve! Can Kevin stop them and save Christmas with the help of some new friends?

Charmingly illustrated by Kim Smith, this sweet and funny adaptation will delight fans of the Home Alone franchise, young and old alike."

This picture book follows suit with the movie, and contains full color illustrations that really make the story pop off the page and com to life.  You feel like you watching movie stills of Home Alone 2: Lost in the New York when you sit and read this book with your family.  My girls really enjoyed the book, and said they loved the lifelike illustrations, as they were like nothing they have seen in other kid's picture books. And, because they are huge fans of the Home Alone movies, they were even more excited to add a picture book from the movies to their holiday collection. I have mentioned in the past how we do book and movie advents to count down to Christmas, and now we have a new book to add to our stack.  The girls plan to read this book on December 1st, the night we kick off our countdown, and then follow it up with watching a double feature: Home Alone, followed by Home Alone 2.  :-)  And, after reading this book a handful of times with them since receiving for review, I couldn't agree with them more.

Books are always a great gift idea for the holidays, as they will not get boring like toys will, and always make for a great reason to snuggle up on the couch to read a good book, or enjoy an extra book at bedtime.  You can learn all about this recent Home Alone 2: Lost in New York release from Quirk Books, as well as check out their other great books for kids (of all ages) by visiting https://www.quirkbooks.com/.
