DejaVu Designs Offers One of a Kind Sea Glass and Stone Designs Including Jewelry and Ornaments - All Perfect for Holiday Gift Giving (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

I love supporting small business owners, artisans, crafters and designers who create handmade goods and gifts, and using my holiday gift guide to showcase all these talented people.  Today, I wanted to share DejaVu Designs, which offers handmade jewelry, hair clips and ornaments that are adorned and made of genuine surf-tumbled sea glass and tumbled stones, found along the Boston coastline.  Next to how beautiful the DejaVu Designs creations are, is that the use of local materials is chosen as a way to lessen the impact on the environment, which I love.  And, many of the pieces are upcycled, making this unique and one of a kind. I don't know about you, but when it comes to the holidays and gift giving, I love stumbling upon gifts that are handmade and unique, as they are the ones that stand out most, and are the most treasured.  So, when I found out about DejaVu Designs, I knew I had to include them in my gift guide, as they have so many great handmade gifts that are perfect for Christmas including their holiday sea glass ornaments and jewelry.

About DejaVu Designs:

All of DejaVu Design's pieces are hand crafted in the United States. Located on the scenic South Shore, situated between bustling Boston, Massachusetts and idyllic Cape Cod, DejaVu Designs has an ideal, peaceful location where creativity can flourish. Whenever possible, we use locally sourced materials, both to reduce our negative impact on the environment and to support local merchants.

All of the items are unique and handmade. They include genuine sea glass and tumbled stones, some items are home items like unique ornaments, while others are more personal like hair clips, hair jewelry, jewelry (both for men and women).

In addition to using local materials, the concepts for most of our products are heavily influenced by our desire to lessen our impact on the environment; a large portion of our products are the result of upcycling, the process of recycling old materials into something of greater value or quality. Because so many of our designs are upcycled, each piece is handmade and unique.

DejaVu Designs' collection of sea glass jewelry and accessories feature sea glass collected from Boston's scenic Harbor Islands and the rocky shores of Maine's Casco Bay. The pieces are understated and elegant, yet call to mind the whimsicality of a summer's day on the beach. DejaVu Designs'

Gemstone and mineral collection features a range of jewelry and accessories made from a great variety of stones and minerals, each of which is associated with different properties and effects. The pieces range from earthy to girly to sophisticated in appearance, depending on the design. The pieces are predominantly simply designed and elegant."

I reached out to the kind folks at DejaVu Designs, and they graciously sent along a sampling of their handmade products for me to check out up close.  When I received the samples, I couldn't help but smile.  I am originally from the Boston area, and have spent summers visiting Cape Cod, where some of the sea glass used with the handcrafted pieces are found.

I found myself remembering these childhood summers fondly and how I would walk up and down the beach looking for sea glass to decorate picture frames with, or add to a bowl I kept sea shells, and sea glass I found while on vacations in Maine and Cape Cod with my family.

While the designs are simple, this is what makes them so elegant and pretty to look at.  Look at the pretty handcrafted pieces I was sent, which i absolutely LOVE:

I really like the ornaments and how they add a unique touch to the Christmas tree.  They really do stand out amongst the other ornaments and are the first thing that people see when they look at the tree.

And, when they notice them, I can't help but share all about DejaVu Designs, and show off the pretty Celtic necklace I was also sent, that I love wearing.

I stopped wearing jewelry after having the girls as they used to pull at my earrings and necklaces, but not that they are older, I have started to wear a few pieces that have sentimental value to me.  When I a saw the Celtic necklace, it reminded me of my Nana as she used to wear a Celtic pendant and I always adored it.  She used to walk the beaches with me and pick up shells and sea glass, so it was only fitting that I stumbled across this pretty sea glass necklace which is wire-wrapped with silver artistic wire and a silver Celtic infinity heart charm.  It reminded me of my Nana, and I loved how you can customize the sea glass color.  I chose aqua to symbolize water, and really like how this handcrafted necklace came out.  It isn't heavy at all, and looks great worn with casual or dressy clothes.

In addition to the two ornament and necklace, I was also sent a fun Starfish Mermaid Magic Wand, which both of my girls LOVE. I will have to pick up another one so that they can both have.  I could see these mermaid wands being fun party favor for a child's mermaid birthday party, or to add a playful touch to your little princess' dress up play. Both of my girls love to swing around the wand and watch the ribbons fly all about, as they cast silly spells, or sing songs.  This is yet another piece that is simply made, but looks stunning.  And the addition of the surf tumbled sea glass to the starfish gives it that special touch, that makes it one of a kind.  The Starfish Mermaid Magic Wand can also be customized with your choice of ribbon color and sea glass accent piece. And, at only $10.95 per wand, you can't go wrong with the price.  These would also make for a cute surprise in your child's holiday stocking when they wake on Christmas morning.

I am so happy I stumbled across DejaVu Desings, and had the opportunity to check out a selection of their handcrafted pieces up close.  I will definitely be cherishing the two ornaments and necklace, and know my girls will be enjoying the Starfish Mermaid Magic Wand for years to come.

If you are like me and like to gift unique and one of kind gifts, that are made with talented artisans here in the USA, and love sea glass and agate slices, then I highly recommend you heading on over to DejaVu Designs website - - and browsing their selection of jewelry, ornaments, Starfish Mermaid Magic Wands and other handcrafted and customizable pieces.

Not only will you be supporting a small business and artisan, but you will be giving a gift that will be truly cherished and admired. Even those hard to shop for people on your holiday shopping list will be in awe of the DejaVu Designs piece you pick out for me.
