I recently shared a cute new picture book with my girls, and they both loved it!  Even though the book is geared towards children ages 3-5 years of age, my girls sat and humored me as I read this story about "the cutest thing ever" to them.  It wasn't until we go to the last page and they saw themselves in the reflective mirror that they both smiled, and agreed that this was a really fun book to read, and one they would want me to read to them again...that is, if they didn't get their hands on it first to read themselves. :-)

Here is more about this book by Amy Ignatow, who also has a new JEDI ACADEMY: ATTACK OF THE FURBALL book out, from her best selling Jedi Academy series.  Both of my girls love her Jedi Academy books and were quick to point out that the author wrote this cute new picture book, too.  Being fans of her other books, this is partly why my girls sat and listened to me read "The Cutest Thing Ever," the first time around, as they both like the author's writing style.

I have to say, I really liked how this book is written and laid out.  Little ones will love looking at all the fun colorful illustrations that fill the pages of this new picture book.  Even the backgrounds in each of the illustrations are filled with vibrant colors that will keep even the youngest of listeners engaged.

As I read through the book my girls kept looking at each other and then me, when we read and then saw  what "the cutest thing ever" was.  They were quick to say that they have seen cuter. But, nothing prepared them for the cutest overload on the last page. :-) I smiled as I held the book up and had my girls look into the reflective mirror at themselves.  I told them they were the cutest things I have ever saw, and I love them so much, before giving them each a hug and kiss. We really enjoyed this book, and have since read it a handful of times at bedtime.  Each and every time, my girls sit up and get ready as I near the end of the book, so that they can look into the mirror, and tell me that they are in fact "the cutest thing ever!" What a great message this cute new picture book has, and kids will love looking at themselves in the mirror, as you remind them that they are the cutest thing ever.

This is definitely going to be one of those books your kids will fall in love with and want you to read with them time and time again.  Even though my girls can read on their own, they still love having me read this cute picture book to them, and then showing me their bright eyes and beaming smiles at the end. :-)
