Are you a fan of the Supergirl television series?  I started watching this series when it first aired, and continue to watch it, along with The Flash.  If you have watched Supergirl then you have probably seen an episode or two featuring The Flash, as he has made appearances to help Supergirl over the years.  I don't know about you, but I love when DC brings together their different superheroes in their movies and television shows.  It is like a little bonus when you sit to watch and see all the different DC superheroes working together. And, the collaboration between Supergirl and The Flash is one of my favorites.

I was excited when I first heard about the Supergirl television series releasing, but even more more excited when I heard that DC and Warner Bros. was coming out with The Flash series.  I made sure to set my DVR to record this series, as I usually don't get to watch episodes of my favorite shows when they first air.  But, when I do find the time, it is a great way to unwind, watching all my favorite shows, including The Flash.  Just like with my girls collecting their favorite television shows that are sent to DVD, I love collecting DVD releases of my favorite shows.  This past Christmas my husband surprised me with a few of The Flash seasons on DVD, as he knew I was trying to play catch up watching this show and that my girls accidentally erased some of the episodes to make room for their shows to record.  I found myself binge watching The Flash, and was finally caught up.  Then, for some reason, my DVR stopped recording the show and I was left missing out on Season 5.  Thankfully Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has saved the day as they are releasing The Flash: The Complete Fifth Season on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on August 27th.

The kind folks at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment  sent along an advanced Blu-ray + Digital copy of this complete fifth season for me to review.  I have been playing catch up watching all 24 action-packed episodes I have missed since season 5 aired on television.  In addition to the episodes, this new release also contains some amazing The Flash bonus content including:

  • The Best of DC TV’s Comic-Con Panel San Diego 2018
  • The Evolution of Killer Frost
  • Inside the Crossover: Elseworlds
  • Villains: Modes of Persuasion
  • Gag Reel
  • Deleted Scenes

I have been having a blast watching the fifth season episodes, as well as all the bonus features, including the hilarious gag reel.  I am so happy to finally be able to catch up with one of my favorite television series, and add this to my growing The Flash collection.  If you are like me and have your own The Flash Blu-ray or DVD collection going, you will most definitely want to add the complete fifth season to your collection.  So, be sure to pre-order The Flash: The Complete Fifth Season on Blu-ray or DVD today!
