As you will see in the clip above, this is the black and white television series which aired weekly between 1955 and 1959.  Back then you only were able to watch a half hour episode at a time, and then have to wait until the following week to see what happened next. But, thanks to this complete series DVD collection, under $40, you can now watch this series, which starred Richard Greene as the outlaw, Robin Hood, and Alan Wheatley, who played his nemesis, the Sheriff of Nottingham, at your own pace, without having to wait for more episodes to air each week.

I was first introduced to this series by from father, who was a big black and white television fan.  If it had to do with cowboys and outlaws, or a police show, he was watching it.  And, then my brothers and I came along, he would watch these on VHS, and introduce us to his favorite shows growing up, which included The Adventures of Robin Hood.

With Father's Day fast approaching, I don't have to worry about what I will get my father, as I plan to gift him this new DVD series collection.  I was sent a review copy for myself, and am trying to watch as many episodes as I can, so that when I visit my parents, I can talk to my dad about the show and my favorite episodes, before surprising him with his own DVD set of one of his favorite black and white television shows from way back when.

If you grew up watching this television series, or love black and white television, then you will definitely want to check out The Adventures of Robin Hood: The Complete Series, which is available now from Mill Creek Entertainment -- all 143 episodes -- all for only $19.99 from Amazon....a steal if you ask me! :-)
