Disclosure: I was provided with a screener from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

There are times when books or movies arrive at my door that I don't remember asking to review, or even knew existed.  And, this was the case when I received "Oddsockeaters" the other day. This Dove-approved animated tale, which arrived on DVD and Digital today, features a group of socks who go on adventures.  If you ever wondered where all those missing socks of your kids' went to, now you don't have to wonder anymore, as Oddsockeaters will answer that question and more in this cute animated adventure that is based on the international bestselling books by Pavel Srut.

"In a whimsical, heartwarming and unique adventure perfect for family viewing, Hugo is a small Oddsockeater venturing out into the big world for the first time.  After moving in with his uncle "Big Boss" and his two nutty cousins, he encounters the Professor, a human determined to providing the existence of Oddsockeaters, as well as The Blades, a crosstown gang of rival sock thieves. Wild adventures ensue as Hugo learns the ropes of being an Oddsockeater as well as valuable lessons about family, love and the true meaning of loyalty."

Like I said earlier, I don't recall requesting this movie, but am glad that we received it, and that I watched it with my the girls the other day. At first look of the cover art of the DVD, the girls thought this was going to be a silly movie, and didn't want to watch it.  But, I told them I was curious to find out where all their missing socks went to and that maybe this DVD would hold the key, and to give this movie a chance.  Once we started to watch it, I saw them smiling and getting into it. They both fell in love with Hugo and loved the whole idea of the Oddsockeaters.

At only 87 minutes, this is the perfect length for even the youngest of viewers to sit and enjoy this new DVD release.  Once you are done watching Oddsockeaters, you can talk with your kids about the valuable lessons they learned through the story and how they can apply these to their own lives.  I love when movie like this, especially Dove-approved one (ones I know I don't have to screen for improper language and content) share not only an entertaining story, but also lessons kids can relate to and apply to their lives. It provides parents with an opportunity to talk further with their kids about these lessons and relate things back to parts of the movie, for easy understanding.

If you are looking for a fun family-friendly movie to watch with your whole family, look no further than Oddsockeaters, available now on DVD and Digital from Omnibus Entertainment/Film Movement.
