Welcome in Fall with a Good Book: Famous Family Trees - Explore 25 Family Trees from History (Review)

My youngest daughter has already decided that she wants to be a history teacher when she grows up.  She is all about history and loves reading books and watching documentaries about historical figures.  So, when I heard Lincoln Children's Books an imprint of Quarto Books, was releasing a book about famous family trees I knew someone who would go crazy for this book...and, that she did, when I read this book to my youngest daughter the other day.

This book is a great way to introduce some of the most influential people in history to young children, through a family tree visual.  Children will learn about people like John F. Kennedy, Ada Lovelace, and Charlotte Bronte, to name a few.  There is so much you can learn about a person just by looking at their genealogy and seeing their family tree.  This book does an amazing in not only introducing young children to these famous people, but also sharing over 100 facts throughout this new book.

As soon as we finished reading this book, my daughter pulled out a piece of paper from her notebook and asked if we could make our own family tree, and have me share about family members from each side.  She was hoping that if we went back far enough we would find some famous people in history.  So, now thanks to this book, we are adding a new subject to our homeschooling, genealogy; and will be visiting the library and doing online research to create our own detailed family tree like the ones you will find in the new "The Famous Family Trees" by Kari Hauge.  While I can't promise my daughter that we will find famous people like JFK or Julius Caesar through our research, we will have fun none the less, and will learn a great deal about both sides of our family, and the people that risked their lives to migrate to the United States many years ago.

If your kids are fans of history or historical figures, or have shown an interest in your family tree, why not consider picking up "The Famous Family Trees" today.  This is definitely one book you will want to have on your bookshelf for school projects or as an interesting read with your children.  Both of my girls enjoyed this book, and now can share fun facts they learned about the different famous people in history, thanks to this easy to follow along, and beautifully illustrated historical book for kids.
