If Halloween and Thanksgiving are two of your child's favorite holidays, then they will love the new Fangsgiving children's book by Ethan Long.  This picture book was released back on Sept .4th from Bloomsbury Children's Book, and has become a favorite bedtime read in our house, since we received last month.

About this Book:

"Geisel Award-winning author and illustrator Ethan Long turns his attention to the day of thanks with a story that's to die for.

It's the fourth Thursday of November, and the members of Fright Club are cooking up something spooky . . . a Thanksgiving feast!

But when Vlad's family arrives unexpectedly, they put their own spin on each of the dishes. Now, the rolls are as hard as headstones and the turkey has been cooked to death. Vlad loves his family, but they've made a mess of their meal!

Can this monster-filled family come together to save their feast and celebrate what the holiday is truly about?"

---

When you think of Thanksgiving, I doubt you think of vampires sitting around a table to enjoy a feast. But, come on, vampires have family's too -- think Mavis and Drac from the popular Hotel Transylvania movies -- and, they probably celebrated holidays like us humans do.  So, why not have a book about a tasty feast?

As you read this book, you learn that monsters also have to deal with family drama and holidays that don't go as planned.  In this particular story, Vlad's family comes for Thanksgiving feast unexpectedly, and this turns the feast upside down.  The planned dishes turn out to be mess, and the holiday seems like it will be chocked up as a failure.  But, wait...can Vlad and his family turn things around and save the Thanksgiving feast?  Don't worry, I will not tell how the story turns out.  What I will say, though, is that this really is a cute picture, and would be a perfect addition to other Thanksgiving books you like to share with your family.  This is definitely going to be a must-read book in our house each year, as we look forward to Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of the year! :-)
