She’s Sweet, Pink, and Purr-fectly Positive

How was your Labor Day weekend?  We just came back from a week long trip to NH. It was nice to get away for a little while, and enjoy time with my girls and parents at their summer home.  I used to spend my summers in NH as my family has always had a summer place.  And, now I get to share this beautiful place with my girls.  The only downfall of the whole trip was the drive there and back.  It takes about 4 hrs. to get to my family's place in NH -- and that is without traffic, which is never the case during the summer months in New England, as it seems like everyone is out on the road and heading up north when I am.  But, thanks to a handful of new and upcoming DVDs that my girls and I had to review, the girls kept busy in the backseat while we drove to NH, which was good as we didn't have to hear "Are we there yet?" or "How much longer?".

One DVD that the girls really enjoyed during our drive up, and then watched again on the drive home was the new Unikitty: Sparkle Party Season 1, Part 1 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, which arrived on DVD back on August 28th.  Even though my girls had already seen all the episodes from this popular animated series, they couldn't wait to watch them again.  This is one of those shows that my girls will not grow tired of the episodes and could watch them over and over again everyday.  And, during the drive up and back, and evenings up north, the girls had fun watching the 20 fun-filled episodes featuring their favorite pink cat, Unikitty.

I tried getting a favorite episode out of the girls after the 4th time watching this new DVD, but they both agreed that all the episodes were great.  My oldest daughter is all about dogs and cats, so she loved when Puppycorn was in an episode alongside Unikitty.  We arrived home the other day, and the girls haven't stopped asking to watch this DVD.  And, they can't wait for another Unikitty DVD to come out, so that they can grow their collection.  With the holidays fast approaching, Unikitty LEGO sets are top on the girls list, as is anything and everything Unikitty. :-)

If you have a Unikitty fan in your life, then you will definitely want to pick up this new release, which is available on DVD or Digital.  My girls give this DVD two thumbs up! :-)

Unikitty is most interested in making sure everyone is happy and ridding the kingdom of negativity, but don’t misunderstand her optimism – she is one kitty not to be crossed. While she may be full of boundless energy and creativity, Unikitty is a force to be reckoned with if anyone gets in the way of spreading her positive vibes, especially if anyone makes her little brother and best friend, Puppycorn sad. Also living in the castle are Dr. Fox, the resident scientist, and Unikitty’s trusty bodyguard, Hawkodile.  Through it all, Unikitty and her friends make sure that every day is the happiest and most creative ever. These 20 exciting episodes are jam-packed with spunk, sparkle and a ton of adventure!

Unikitty and her friends are creative, encouraging, and honest in their own fun and fabulous way,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, WBHE, Vice President, TV Marketing, Family & Animation. “The show is funny, entertaining, and has a positive message – it’s perfect for the whole family to enjoy!”
