This movie has it all...fantasy, romance, action and adventure, making it the perfect movie to share for your next family movie night. I was surprised I never heard of this Emmy winning movie until now, but glad I had the opportunity to watch it as it was stunning, how two worlds magically come together in one fantastic adventure. If your family loves fairy tales and movies that spark their imagination and take them away on journeys unimaginable until they see it with their own eyes, then you will all love The 10th Kingdom.
We ended up watching this movie the other night, and within the first few minutes, we were all hooked, and couldn't take our eyes off the screen. Can you imagine what Central Park in NYC would look like if was taken over by fairies and giants? Well, this movie will show you in a dramatic and breathtaking way. You and your family will be in for an epic adventure when you sit down to watch The 10th Kingdom together. I gaurantee it! :-)

My Thoughts:
Here is another wonderful fantasy flick that will sure to delight fans of mythology and folklore. This time instead of fairies taking over Central Park, you have leprechauns fighting in a war that has been ignited by a forbidden love affair. Fans of fairies will be happy to know that there are fairies in this movie, too. This movie was nominated for an Emmy for Oustanding Special Visual Effects for a Miniseries. Did you catch it when it aired on television before? I didn't, but had heard about it from family and friends who had, so I was excited to see it for myself. And, after watching it over the course of a couple days - it is 2 hrs. and 52 minutes in length -- a little long for my two girls to sit in one sitting to watch, I wondered to myself why they didn't win the Emmy as this miniseries was great. Not only does the movie have a stellar cast including Whoopie Goldberg, Roger Daltry and Colm Meaney, but the story line will draw you in from the start, and leave you on the edge of your seat right up until the final moments.
I highly recommend this movie for families who enjoy watching movies together, or for a special date-night in.

My Thoughts:
Let's first start with the price of this 5-movie DVD box set. How much would you pay for a box set like this? I bet you didn't guess $14.98. Even on the low end of $5-$9 dollars a movie, the actual cost of this box set is even cheaper, making it a must have for families who enjoy family movie nights together. This box set offers an assortment of movies that the whole family will love, without having to deal with the dreaded "What are we going to watch tonight?". When I showed my girls this box set, they were quick to zero in on the Bandit and the Saints of Dogwood movie as they both love dogs, and then North. I had already seen most of these movies and know how great they were. I was just excited to be able to share some of my favorite movies that I watched with my family growing up, with them.
This 5-Movie box set includes comedies, dramas, action and adventure movies, providing hours of fun for the whole family. If you are planning an upcoming family trip and usually bring some movies along, then you will want to pick up this new box set release from Mill Creek Entertainment to bring along and enjoy together. We haven't watched this movie yet, so I can't comment on how it is yet. But, after seeing the trailer below, we plan to watch this upcoming Friday. My husband and I both like mystery and suspense movies, and this movie has that and so much more. Come on, what movie with Sir Patrick Stewart hasn't been good? I would watch it just for him, as he is an amazing actor and brings so much to each and every role he plays. If only Friday would get here already so we could watch it! :-)

My Thoughts:
This is the movie I feel that made the Rock a standout actor in a drama. Usually we see him in action movies flexing his muscles, but in Gridiron Gang, we get to see his softer side, and he really makes you fall in love with this movie, which is based on a true story. I am not usually a football fan, but this is more than just a movie about football, it is about heart and one man believing in a group of boys who ended up on the wrong side of the tracks and had no left that believed in them. The Rock's character proved to them and his character that everyone deserves a second chance and that when you believe in someone you can change their whole word and lead them back on the right path.
I have lost count on how many times I have seen this movie over the years. But, each and every time I sit down to watch the movie, I find myself enjoying it even more. This is definitley one movie that can be enjoyed with older children, and great to have in our movie library, as you, too, once you see it if you haven't already, will want to watch time and again.

My Thoughts:
I grew up watching these three television shows with my dad and brothers. Because my dad was a cop, he was into shows like these, and even the 70's favorite, Dragnet. When we would come home from work or a police detail, he would have his dinner and watch these shows. My brothers and I would sit with him in the living room, to spend time with him. And, then we found ourselves getting into these shows and looking forward to watching them. If you were born in the 70's or 80's, then you probably watched these hit television shows that were big in the 80's.
This box set includes the complete first season of these three cop/detective shows. My husband had never seen these shows before, so it was fun to introduce him to the television shows. Now, he is hoping Mill Creek Entertainment will be releasing the complete series for these television shows so that he can binge watch them. :-)

My Thoughts:
I first stumbled upon this series when looking for something to watch on Hulu last year. After watching a few episodes, my husband and I were hooked, and started binge watching this comedic series -- three seasons in total. So, when I saw Mill Creek Entertainment was coming out with the complete series on DVD, I knew my husband would love. And, that he was when I showed him the other day. Even though we have already seen this Hulu original series before, we couldn't wait to start watching the series again, this time without having to binge watch it. This lets us truly enjoy the slap stick comedy of Seth Myers and the other comedians and appreciate each and every story line/episode. We started watching this last week and have already made it through the first season. We couldn't stop laughing and found it was a great series to watch at the end of a crazy work day when you just want to veg out and relax and not have to think about movie or show.
If your Dad or husband is fan of this popular Hulu original series, then you will definitely want to pick up this DVD, which includes the complete series (all 3 seasons).
