PBS Kids: Ocean Adventures DVD

Now that Valentine's Day is over, stores are gearing up for the next big holiday -- Easter.  I ran to the store the other day to stock up on my favorite chocolates now that they were on sale (you know you do this, too) and couldn't believe how the shelves were already stocked with Easter candy and basket fillers.  But, I guess this is good for those who like to shop early and not feel rushed as the holiday approaches.  So, with that being said, I thought I would start sharing some great new DVDs and toys that recently released, that would make for great Easter basket fillers.  So, keep an eye out on my blog as I will be sharing some wonderful non-candy gift ideas, with some posts including giveaways! :-)

Last week the folks at PBS Kids released a fun new DVD, Ocean Adventures, which features a bunch of your child's favorite animated series from PBS Kids, including Wild Kratts, Dinosaur Train, Daniel Tiger and even Reading Rainbow.  I don't know about you, but I love when they come out with DVDs like this that includes an assortment of my girls' favorite shows all on one DVD and centered around a particular theme.  This new DVD is all about ocean adventures, and will get young children excited about underwater expeditions, as they enjoy 10 fun-filled adventures, featuring their favorite PBS Kids series characters.

My girls really got into this new DVD, and loves how it had the new Jim Henson's Splash and Bubbles part of the 10 episode feature.  Being a homeschooling family I love including WordWorld, Super Why, Wild Kratts and Reading Rainbow in our lessons, to help reinforce topics we are covering.  Not only are the episodes from these hit series fun, but the girls learn at the same time, without them knowing they are.  If I was to tell the girls we are going to sit down and watch an educational movie, they would roll their eyes or say, "Come on; can we watch something fun?"  But, I don't have to say this with the different PBS Kids episodes I share with them as they think they are being entertained.  But, the knowledge they gain on different topics can be seen as soon as the episode is over and they tell me all about what they watched and learned. :-)  So, it is a win-win for us all.

I could go on and on about about how great the new Ocean Adventures DVD is from PBS Kids, but why not pick up a copy of this new DVD for yourself and enjoy it with your child. At under $5 from Amazon, you can't go wrong for all that you get with this DVD -- 10 full-length episodes of your child's favorite shows all on one DVD -- making it great entertainment to be enjoyed at home or on the go.
