Today I told my girls to tune in channel 198 and see what happens.  We have DISH and I knew today they were starting their DISH Yule Log.  What I didn't know was how much fun it would or that it would be something we left on most of the day to watch and have going in the background.

Not only is this a crackling fireplace with festive decorations around the mantle and a Christmas tree all done up in the corner, but it also has some fun surprises if you sit and watch it for a bit...think silly elves, Santa and even a little boy stealing Santa's cookies.  My oldest daughter even noticed and pointed out a cute little mouse peaking out of the stocking, and a dog running by.  We really had fun tuning in and checking out the DISH Yule log, which you can check out beginning today, through January 2nd.  

We don't have a fireplace in our living room, so it was nice to have this going in the background and hearing the crackling fire. I had forgot for a minute that we didn't have a fireplace, as it really felt like a fire was going in the background, and because the girls had it on and were glancing over at it to see who was going to make a special appearance, I grew used to see the fire going.  It was a really nice touch, and fun for the girls to see and enjoy.  We will definitely be tuning it more this month and leaving Channel 198 on, for ambiance.
