My girls were excited
when The Legend of Chupacabras arrived
on our doorstep as they said the cover art looked a little spooky, and that was
cool. :-) They are starting to get into "big kid" shows like
Goosebumps, which I said is similar to this movie, so they were even more
excited and couldn't wait to watch it for family movie night. Another
bonus of this movie was that their grandfather (my husband's father) is now
living with us permanently after moving back from El Salvador, so we could care
for him. He only speaks Spanish and this was a great movie to have him
sit with the family and watch and bond with the girls, as it is available in
both English and Spanish. The girls are loving being able to spend time
with their grandfather who they just met a few months back, and can't stop
talking about how great this movie was with him...even though he doesn't know
what they saying. :-) But, he does agree it was a cute movie movie, and
one he would sit for again -- that is good as the girls are planning another
movie date soon.
Even though the cover
art looks a little spooky, don't worry as the movie is not scaring. The
story is inspired by real Latin American folklore, which my husband has shared
with my girls in the past at bedtime, which made this movie even more
enjoyable. The girls thought they were watching a "big kid"
movie and I didn't have to worry about them being up all night or waking with
nightmares.
If you are looking for a
fun family-friendly movie to watch with your whole family, and that everyone
will enjoy, you will definitely want to pick up a copy of The Legend of Chupacabras when it arrives in stores
tomorrow.
