Now Available to Own on DVD -- FULLER HOUSE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON DVD (Review)

Disclosure:  Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

I grew up watching Full House and missed it when it went off the air.  Like many fans of the show I wondered if they would do a reunion show. Never did I imagine years later that they would bring the show back and have us follow D.J. and Stephanie, along with Kimmy (sniff sniff, no Olsen twins).  But such is life, I tried to make every effort to watch the show when it released on Netflix.  I think I got through the first 4 episodes and then I got busy with the girls and life and forgot about the show.  I was then reminded about the show when I heard they were coming out with season 2.  And, right after I heard this news, I heard they were coming out with the complete first season on DVD.  I don't know about you, but I find that if I have a DVD of a movie or show, it makes it easier for me to watch, than trying to get the girls or even my husband to give up the remote to watch a streaming show.  I can leave them in the living room, and sneak into the bedroom and watch and episode or two of this show while folding laundry.  :-)

I received this DVD last week and am almost all caught up with the first season.  Even though I am grown up like DJ and Stephanie, I still felt like a kid again, as this was truly one of my favorite shows to tune in and watch.  I even watched the reruns as they never got boring.

Have you had a chance to watch Fuller House yet?  If you were a fan of the original Full House series and haven't had a chance to watch this new streaming series on Netflix, or don't have Netflix but want to see what you have been missing, now you can pick up the complete first season on DVD and binge watch it, so that you are ready for Season 2 and beyond. :-)    What are you waiting for?  Pick up this 2-DVD complete first season DVD and watch all 13 episodes of this family-friendly show today.  My girls have watched a couple of the episodes with me and already know the theme song.  Guess, I now have viewing buddies for Season 2. :-)

More About this new DVD release and series which streams on Netflix....

"Feeling nostalgic for one of television’s best-loved family comedies? The Tanner clan is back and they’re bringing laughter and good times to all Full House fans with the release of Fuller House: The Complete First Season, available on DVD on February 28, 2017, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE). Twenty years have passed and the Tanner sisters are all grown-up. They’ve returned to their San Francisco home, where they’re joined by family and friends as they raise the next generation of Tanner kids. Fuller House: The Complete First Season is comprised of all 13 episodes from the show’s first season and will retail for $24.98 SRP. Individual episodes from Fuller House: The Complete First Season are also available to own on Digital HD via purchase from digital retailers.

On Fuller House, eldest daughter D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure, Full House, A Christmas Detour) is now a veterinarian and recently widowed mother trying to raise three boys on her own.  She is joined by her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin, Full House, Walt Before Mickey) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber, Full House, The Skateboard Kid 2) and Kimmy’s teenage daughter Ramona (Soni Bringas), who move in to lend their support and help raise D.J.’s kids.  The Full House original cast, including Bob Saget (Full House, Entourage), Lori Loughlin  (Full House, When Calls the Heart), John Stamos (Full House, Grandfathered, Scream Queens) and Dave Coulier (Full House, Robot Chicken), make guest appearances throughout the series.

The original Full House, which centered on three grown men raising three girls in San Francisco, premiered in 1987 on ABC and became an instant hit with viewers. The family friendly series became a pop culture phenomenon. It was praised by fans for its wholesome comedy, lovable characters and valuable life lessons. It aired for eight successful seasons and later aired in syndication.  Fuller House premiered on Netflix in February 2016 and has already been renewed for a second season.

Fuller House earned two Teen Choice Awards in 2016. The series won in the “Choice TV Show: Comedy” category. Candace Cameron Bure earned the “Choice TV Actress: Comedy” award.

“We think this release will be a big hit with consumers. The longstanding success of the original Full House on DVD, coupled with the popularity of the return of the series on Netflix, demonstrate there is a demand for Full House content,” said Rosemary Markson, WBHE Senior Vice President, TV Marketing. She added, “We’re thrilled to see the revival of this legendary family series, and we’re excited to release it on DVD. Now a new generation of fans will be introduced to this very special show.”

Created by Jeff Franklin (Full House, Malcom & Eddie), Fuller House is produced by Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. Robert L. Boyett (Family Matters, Step by Step), Thomas L. Miller (Family Matters, Step by Step) and Jeff Franklin are executive producers."
