Both of my girls love to craft.  I guess they picked that up from me, as I have always loved to do arts and crafts type products ever since I can I remember.  Growing up I would have girls night in with my mom and she would let me play make up artist and hairdresser with her, in addition to doing crafty projects.  We would paint ceramics, make paper crafts, or find unique and fun ways to use pom poms, beads, yarn and other craft supplies we had around the house.  I loved those times and being able to use my creativity to make something, which my mom would always display proudly. Now, today, I am doing the same thing with my girls.  When we are not having a fun girls night in, I try to incorporate arts and craft type projects into their homeschooling, or for rainy day fun.

So, when I heard about Stuck on Fun, a craft kit/book for young kids from Jannie Ho releasing in November, I had to reach out the publisher and see about getting an advance copy to share with the girls.  What is so neat about this book is that it allows kids to create art and fun crafts by using pattern paper, sticker/washi tape, press outs, stencils, stickers and more.  I love how supplies are provided like washi tape, and that they suggest craft supplies like glitter, glue, crayons and markers, poms poms and gem stickers, to dress up your creations.  Many of these things you already have on hand for craft time with your kids, so pulling supplies for these cute punch out crafts is a breeze...which I love!

My two girls are different in so many ways.  Bella is more outgoing, while Savannah is shy and reserved.  And, when it comes to crafting, Bella is quick to grab a handful of supplies and go to town creating her own unique piece, whereas Savannah looks to see if there are instructions to follow, before venturing on her own path of design.  This book is great for both of their crafting styles, as Bella loved being able to grab the pattern paper and stencils and personalize her punch outs, while Savannah read through the 24-page project book that was filled with simple instructions and ideas for designing and creating unique patterns with the materials provided.

This book, while perfect for a rainy day, or even upcoming snow day, sure came in handy this past week, while Savannah and I have been recovering from pneumonia.  We have been home resting for the past two weeks, and before that was home caring for Bella who had croup.  So, you can imagine how stir crazy the girls and I have been being stuck in the house.  We have watched so many movies, baked until we no longer could look at sweets, and have been crafting up a storm.  But, when this book arrived last week, both of my girls were excited to try it out, as they are fans of washi tape and stickers.  They jumped at the opportunity to use these common craft supplies and goodies, all included with the book, and make fun gifts, which they plan to give to family and their friends for Christmas.

I wish I could share the creations they made, but seeing that they are gifts, they don't want family and friends to see online and see what gift they made for them in advance.  All I can say is I was amazed at what the girls came up by using the craft supplies included in the new Stuck on Fun! book by Jannie Ho.  I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more books like this from Jannie Ho, as they were a hit with the girls, and kept them busy for hours.

If you have a child between the ages of 5 and 8 years old who loves to craft, then you will want to check out this craft book.  It would make for a great birthday or Christmas gift, or even just to surprise them with on a snow day or just because.  So, what are you waiting for?  Pick up a copy of Stuck on Fun! now available, and get crafting with your child today.
