Savannah's Broughton Street to Host "Holidays on Broughton" #holidaysonbroughton

"This holiday season, Savannah is invited to experience the inaugural “Holidays on Broughton,” kicking off with a grand celebration on Friday, November 25, and festivities continuing each Saturdya through Saturday, December 17. The Broughton Street merriment will commence on November 25, beginning at 5 p.m., with the lighting of the Broughton Street holiday tree, seasonal musical performances and Santa’s arrival.

“After extensive renovations and preservation of our amazing street, we invite all residents and visitors of Savannah to celebrate the holidays and reintroduction of historical Broughton Street,” said City of Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach. “The City of Savannah is committed to re-establishing Broughton Street as Savannah’s Main Street and as a vital community destination for commerce and family gatherings for years to come.”


“Holidays on Broughton” will welcome Savannah residents and visitors to experience the wonder of the season on Broughton Street, where amid magnificent historic architecture, festive decorations, whimsical building projections and shopping, guests will discover seasonal events for all ages and interests. From a pop-up toy shop, to photos with Santa and musical performances, eventgoers can count on an experience that will prove magical year after year. 

The lighting ceremony of the Broughton Street 50-foot holiday tree will take place on Friday, November 25, at 5 p.m. at the corner of Broughton and Bull Streets, accompanied by merry-making, music and photos with Santa. 


Santa will be available for family visits and photos Friday, November 25, from 5 to 9 p.m., as well as every Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning Saturday, November 26,, underneath the holiday tree. Each Friday and Saturday night, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., digital projections will illuminate holiday scenes and celebrate the restoration of the street. Each Saturday, from  3 to 6 p.m. the stage will have scheduled performances to boast music, dance and demonstrations. Additionally, being reintroduced to the historic street, will be a Punch & Judy’s pop-up children’s store at 25 E. Broughton Street. Throughout the whimsical holiday event, many of the unique and eclectic shops along Broughton Street will offer extended hours of operation and holiday shopping incentives.
