Do you know who these 5 guys from Boston are?...

New Kids on the Block - Cover Art

Back in the late 80's and all through the 90's my bedroom and college dorm walls were covered with pictures of the New Kids on the Block.  And, being from the Boston area, I felt that I had to represent.  Hahaha, just kidding. I know I was not the only girl in love with all five of the guys.  Not only could they sing, but they were so cute.  And, you know what...they still are to this day. :-)

Out of all the bands that I have grown up with and have listened to over the years, the NKOTB is one band that I don't grow tired of listening.  From their early hits of 1986, of which the above photo is from, to their hits in the 90's, their chart toppings hits make this band one of the most popular in music history.  Don't believe me?  Then, ask all the crazy NKOTB fans who make their concerts sell out.  And, if concerts weren't enough, did you know that the NKOTB host a boat cruise for die-hard fans each year?  I vaguely recall a friend mentioning that we should go a few years back, but then I forgot about...thanks in part to becoming a mother and being crazy busy with life.  But, thanks to "Rock This Boat" which premiers tonight on Pop! I am able to see what the NKOTB cruise is all about, not just from fans, but from unfiltered footage of the boys, too!  I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Season 2 to premier at 8:30PM ET.  I will be making sure the girls are in bed, so that I can enjoy without being interupted. :-)

Here is more about the "Rock This Boat" series, in case you missed season 1 like I did...

"This summer, Pop jumps on-board one of the hottest selling, fan-driven cruises of the year, featuring one of the most popular bands in music history, with the second season television series premiere of ROCK THIS BOAT: NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK (NKOTB) on Wednesday, June 1 at 8:30 p.m., ET/PT.
Season two of the music reality series brings fans intimate, unprecedented access to NKOTB in 10 new television episodes. To further immerse viewers in the NKOTB experience, Pop has teamed up with Littlstar, a premier global network dedicated to virtual reality (VR) and 360 degree video, to launch immersive content on web, mobile, headset and Apple TV platforms. The dedicated VR and 360 degree experiences will include live performances with the band, selfies with Donnie, surf lessons with Joey and Jonathan, and more.

Over the past eight years since reuniting, the ever popular NKOTB has played to countless sold out arenas and since brought back their wildly popular cruise, which first set sail in the 90s, as an exclusive experience for their fans. NKOTB bandmates, Donnie, Danny, Joey, Jordan and Jonathan, make the cruise one of those can’t miss annual experiences with up-close and personal interactions with fans, theme parties and special live music performances. NKOTB has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide. With numerous sold out tours and multiple #1 hit songs, the band’s annual party cruise has sold out eight years in a row.

In season two of ROCK THIS BOAT: NKOTB, the cameras focus directly on the band with unprecedented access to all five members as they engage with each other and rock out with their fans, both on- and off-stage. This season will give fans a whole new perspective on the NKOTB cruise as they experience it through the band members’ eyes with pre-cruise video shot in their homes, exclusive access to rehearsals for deck parties and concerts, and revealing looks inside their cabins.  Also, new for season two are five consulting producers behind the camera who are die-hard NKOTB fans, representing the voice and perspective of the band’s most loyal followers."

If you can't wait the premiere tonight, make sure you set your DVR to record this and all future episodes of Season 2, ROCK THIS BOAT: NKOTB.  I am definitely going to be talking to my girlfriends and seeing about doing a girls only cruise one of these years, so that we can party alongside other NKOTB fans and the boys.  Shh, don't tell my husband. :-)
