My girls can't get enough of the new series on Disney Channel, "The Lion Guard."  If you have little ones who tune into Disney or Disney Junior daily, then you probably know about this show or even watch it.

If you are not familiar with "The Lion Guard" here is more about the series and upcoming DVD release...

"Disney’s epic adventure The Lion King continues with Simba and Nala's second-born cub, Kion, and his Lion Guard team as they embark on adventures together throughout the Pride Lands! Follow him as he brings together a group of unlikely heroes: Bunga the honey badger, Fuli the cheetah, Beshte the hippo and Ono the egret. Join this heroic band as they use their unique abilities to defend the Pride Lands from predators and maintain the Circle of Life. As King Mufasa said,” Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures, from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope.”"

I can still remember seeing the Lion King in theaters and falling in love with the movie.  And, as I grew older and would watch this Disney classic I would find greater appreciation with the story line, meanings and overall animation of this movie.  I couldn't wait to share this movie with my girls.  But, before I could share the movie, as I was waiting for them to get a little older to truly appreciate it, they stumbled across this new series on Disney, which picks up where the Lion King movie left off.

Not only are my girls fans of this series and tune in daily to see the show, or ask to watch recorded episodes, but, I, too, am finding myself adding this to my favorite shows list.  It really is a wonderful family friendly movie that the whole family will enjoy gathering together to watch.  Savannah recently asked if there was going to be a DVD release of this new series, as she wanted to make sure if one was released that she could pick up.  I wanted to surprise her and didn't tell her we would be getting a review copy.  It so happened that on the day we received our review copy, the girls saw a commercial for this upcoming release.  Savannah quickly ran to find me and had me come into the living room so that she could show me the commerical and ask for the DVD.  I tried my hardest to hold off on showing them DVD, but I gave in and made a fresh bowl of popcorn and snuggled up with the girls to watch this DVD.

Even though my girls have seen all the episodes that have aired on television of the Lion Guard, they watched this DVD as if it was new to them.  From start to finish, their eyes were glued to the screen and they couldn't turn away.  I even had to pause it halfway through for a bathroom break, as the girls didn't want to miss a scene. :-)

We have had this DVD for a few days now, but have already watched it a handful of times.  It hasn't gotten old yet, and I don't see the girls getting bored of it.  They have been having fun acting out their favorite scenes and talking all about it to their grandparents when they came over the weekend to visit.

To say my girls are huge fans is an understatement. :-)  They absolutely loved The Lion Guard: Return Of The Roar, and I know that Lion Guard in your family will love it, too.  So, make sure you pick up a copy of this new DVD when it arrives in stores on Tuesday.
