The Search is On for the Perfect Macy's Downtown Boston Christmas Tree - Submit Your Photos By 10/9 @Macy's

Are you ready for this?  Maybe you should take a seat if you are standing and looking at your phone.  There are only 78 days left until Christmas.  Can you believe this?  Thanks to my girls who asked to start this wish lists early this year due to all the toy commercials starting in mid- September, as well as stores and even online retailers setting up their holiday displays or running pre-Black Friday sales, you can help but start to get into the holiday spirit.  While I know some of you dread the crazy holiday season -- shopping especially, I know others are with in wanting to start listening to Christmas carols, pulling the tree out of storage to decorate and see all the holiday lights and window displays.  Insert big smile here
:-)

When I think of Christmas, the first thing that comes to mind are all the different holiday traditions I have -- some which started as a child, and some I started when I got married and had children. One of my favorite childhood traditions, which I now do with my girls is head into Boston for a day of shopping, to see a holiday show and then line up outside the Downtown Crossing Macy's store to countdown and watch the Christmas tree be lit up.  This has always been the most memorable holiday tradition and one I look forward to year after year.  Not only is the anticipation of the lights being turned on exciting, but I love heading into the city and seeing which beautiful evergreen tree Macy's has chosen for that given year to display and light up. The trees are always so amazing -- not only in size, but how glorious they look all lit up.  The Macy's tree lighting in Downtown Crossing is my family's kickoff to the Christmas holiday.  How about you?

If you have never been, check out my video I captured of the countdown, along with a few of the Macy's holiday window displays that captivated my girls and everyone who peered into the storefront windows...

As my family and so many other New Englanders wait for the upcoming tree lighting at Macy's at Downtown Crossing in Boston, I wanted to be sure you all knew about the great tree search.  Sounds like something from a Peanuts movie, right?  Well, did you that you could submit your own evergreen for consideration as the tree Macy's chooses to display and light up this holiday season?  Do you know the bragging rights this honor would bring you and your family for years to come?  :-)

Take a look in your yard.  Is there one evergreen (fir or spruce) tree that stands out that makes you say, "This tree would make for the perfect Christmas tree."  Well, if you think you have the most amazing Christmas tree in town, Macy’s wants to see it!

Tis the season! Macy’s Downtown Boston is looking for a perfect Christmas tree. They’re asking all of their friends to share the perfect tree with them. Macy’s will use the selected winner’s actual tree in their Boston store. The winner will also receive a $1,000 Macy’s Gift Card for all of their holiday shopping needs!  I would be so excited just to have my tree chosen, but a $1,000 Macy's gift card on top of that...wow, what a way to enjoy holiday shopping.

There are some specific details to enter the Boston Tree search. Macy’s is looking for evergreen trees only, either fir or spruce, standing 40-50 feet tall and displaying full brush. It must have a single trunk from top to bottom and be easily accessible to the harvesting crew.

To enter, snap a photo of your tree and send it, along with a 4” x 6” index card detailing your name, daytime phone number, street address, email address, location and height of the tree, to: Macy’s Perfect Tree Search, Attn: Macy’s Special Events, 11 Penn Plaza, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Make sure you included all specifics about the tree in your entry.  For more information, visit http://bit.ly/TreeSearch15.

Entries must be received by this Friday, October 9th, so don’t delay!

I can't wait to see which tree is chosen this year from all the entries submitted for the Boston Tree Search. Who knows, maybe it will be yours, or someone you know.  Either way, I know for sure that we will be in attendance, no matter the temperature, to countdown from 10 to 1 and see the Macy's Downtown Boston Christmas tree be lit up, while also getting in a little holiday shopping, admiring the holiday window displays, and just spending time with family and friends who join us in the city.  Hope to see you there, too!
