Introducing the Kupp' -- A Fun, Reusable Drinking Glass for Kids -- Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Look around your house...if you have little ones especially, how many plastic cups do you see?  Right now, one corner of my kitchen counter is filled with an assortment of sippy and plastic character cups that the girls have accumulated and not wanted to part with these past couple of years.  But, as they are getting older -- Savannah is now 4 yrs. old and Bella will be 3 in November, they are slowly transitioning to "big things" things, like drinking from a big person's cup.  Like most parents, my main concern about this transition is the girls dropping a glass and having it shatter into tiny little pieces, with the chance of cutting the girls.  But, like I realized when I dropped Savannah off to preschool last month, my girls are no longer babies (even though I wish they were) and I have to start treating them like big girls and help teach them new things, like using a big girl cup.

The Kupp', which is an Eco-friendly cup, was created by a mom, who was tired of seeing her family go through so many cups.  Not being able to find a BPA Free drinking cup for her three boys, she took it upon herself to create her own, and thus the Kupp' was born. :-)

"The Kupp’ is a completely new personalized cup for kids that has a specific purpose. First, the creator of the Kupp’, Kate Oliver, wants to stop the use of plastic cups in the home and instead use drinking glasses for kids. This will eliminate exposure to toxic chemicals found in plastic. Second, the color connection helps teach children responsibility. Your child will take pride in their own BPA free, cool kids cup and be excited to drink out of and reuse their blue, orange, red or green Kupp’."

I love seeing moms create a product out of necessity and having other parents see it and say, "I have to have that" or "What a brilliant idea."  This is one of the many reasons I love to share Spotlight Mom and Dad posts with you, as you get to be introduced to these "ah ha" moments moms and dads have, and see the final product.  Click here if you missed my Spotlight on Mom interview with the Kupp' mom inventor this past Monday.

Kate Oliver, the founder and mom behind the Kupp' kindly sent along two of her safe drinking cups for my girls to try out.  For those that love "Made in the USA" products, you will be happy to learn that all of the Kupp' silicone sleeves are assembled in Maine.

"All of the 6 oz. Kupp' glasses are recyclable and certified lead and cadmium free.  The silicon sleeves are all BPA/BPS free, medical and food grade silicon, and are produced by an ISO certified manufacturer."

Like I shared on Monday, one of the things Savannah was most proud of learning at preschool so far this year is how to drink from a "big girl" cup.  And, since this new discovery, she will not drink from her sippy or plastic character cups any more.  Bella is seeing this and is also following suite.

I was excited to receive two of the 6 oz. Kupp' glasses in the mail for the girls to try.  And, as soon as they saw me take them out of the boxes they come in, they were ready to give them a try.  I hovered over my youngest as she picked up the glass for the first time, so that I could try and catch it if she stumbled and dropped it.  But, she told me to back away and that she could do it...and, she did.  She was all smiles as she drank her cup of water, and asked for refill after refill.  Savannah also loved the glass, especially the fun bright colors of the silicone sleeves and how they were easy to grasp.

We have only been using the Kupp' glasses for about a week now, but already the girls are drinking from them as if they have been drinking from a "big girl" cup for quite some time.  When it comes to setting the table at night, they are quick to grab their glasses from the shelve and help set their place setting. Because of the different colors that were sent, my girls know which Kupp' is theirs and guard it with their life. :-)

If it wasn't for this mom-invented drinking glass, I don't know what I would do when it comes to serving up the girls' drinks.  Savannah would be fighting me tooth and nail to use a glass, while I would struggle with throwing out plastic or paper cups, that I would use to prevent accidental dropping and glass shattering cleanups.

So, say goodbye to all those plastic cup and sippy cups you have been hoarding, like I have, and say "Hello" to the mom-invented Kupp'.  This fun, reusable drinking glass, which comes in red, orange, blue and green, will delight your children, while making you smile, as you watch your little ones growing up right before your eyes. :-)
