Elmo's Furry Friend (Sesame Street)

The kind folks at Random House Kids sent along "Elmo's Furry Friend" for me to share with the girls, and like I suspected it was an instant hit with them.  Not only do the girls love everything Elmo, but they especially loved the touch and feel fuzzy cover and pages, that make up this sturdy board book.  Savannah kept pointing out the fussy spots to Bella, and they would take turns rubbing it and saying "feels fuzzy." :-)  And, with only 12 pages, this book is great to through in the diaper bag and pull out at the doctor's office while you wait, to entertain while you wait at a restaurant, or simply read at nap or bedtime.

This book is definitely getting its fair share of loving.  When I am not reading the cute story to the girls, they love pulling this book off the shelf and sitting together as they touch the fuzzy areas and re-tell their version of the story to one another.  I can't wait to pick up other board books like this for the girls and I to enjoy.  But, in the meantime, they will continue to have me read this book to them, or enjoy flipping through the pages on their own.

Dora Loves Boots (Dora the Explorer)

I was also sent "Dora Loves Boots" to share with the girls, which also become a favorite.  This books not only has a cute story to share with kids starring their favorite Nickelodeon characters, Dora the Explorer and her friend, Boots, but you will also get press-out Valentines and over 30 stickers for your children to enjoy.  My girls ended up decorating the pages of this paperback book with the stickers, and added their unique signature to the cute Dora-themed Valentine's Day cards, before having me mail to the grandparents.  If you love surprising your children with a little something on Valentine's Day and they are fans of the hit animated series, Dora the Explorer, why not pick up this book, which is only $4.99?  With the added bonus of the Valentine's Day cards and stickers, this is a steal at only $4.99. :-)

Fin-tastic Friends! (Bubble Guppies)

Another fun book for little ones from the December releases, was Bubble Guppies: Fin-Tastic Friends!  While both my girls love this animated series, also airing daily on Nickelodeon, Arabella is the bigger fan of the show and characters.  Santa brought her an assortment of Bubble Guppies toys, which she can't part with and plays with daily.  So, when she saw this board book, her eyes lit up and she smiled from ear to ear.  Similar to the Elmo's Furry Friend book, this book had raised glittery effects on the cover and throughout the books. She couldn't help but point out the sparkly pages as I read this story to her.  And, when she wants some "me time," I always find her pulling this book of the shelf and flipping through the pages to feel and look at the sparkling glitter.  This is another fun book that would make for a great Valentine's Day gift idea.

Sisters on Safari (Barbie)

Another favorite of the recent December Random House Kids among my girls was Barbie: Sisters on Safari, which includes a pair of magic binoculars that when worn, reveal hidden baby animals and other surprises on every page.  I ended up having to pick up another copy of this book, which is only $4.99, as the girls kept fighting over who got to wear the magic glasses when we read the story.  Now, the girls have their own copy of this Barbie paperback book and magic glasses, so they can enjoy on their own or together. :-)
