I would love to challenge to do one thing today.  Stop what you are doing for a few minutes and think about a special moment that has occurred recently in your family.  Did you capture a photo of this special moment, so that you can look at whenever you want, and reminisce about this memorable time with your family?  With our hectic schedules, we sometimes forget to stop and think about special moments we are making with our family, let it be sharing a family dinner, watching a television program or movie together, or even having a board game night.  However you choose to bond with your family, try to make a point to “Share what’s good™” with family and friends, and let them know how much you treasure them.

This past summer, I got to have a family moment that I will treasure for years to come.  My husband and I took the girls away for a last minute 4th of July vacation.  We had been busy with work and the girls being sick, that we had decided a week before that we would scrap our holiday getaway plans to my parent's summer house, and just stay around the house.  But, my husband ended up surprising me, by packing everyone's stuff for a weekend away.  He wanted to celebrate the wonderful news I had received just days before from my oncologists, letting me know that I was deemed in remission after being treated for stage 2 nasopharyngeal carcinoma back in 2008.  Five long years of scans every 3 months, which would always leave me stressed and wondering if my cancer would return.  But, after hearing the words "remission" spoken from my doctors, make all my worries of a recurrence seem to melt away.  Now, I know there is still a chance that my cancer or another form of cancer may come back, but my survival rate is now 80% -- which to me is not bad, seeing that we don't know how long we are on this Earth for.  I cherish each morning I wake up and get to look at my beautiful daughters playing together.  I have to admit, the best part of my day is bedtime, when they each give me a great big bear hug and tell me how much they love me.  I always tell them: "I love you to the moon and back" and "You mean the world to me."  And, know that they are talking, they usually cut me off mid-sentence to finish my sayings, as they crack a smile that always melts my heart.

Family is what's good in my life.  And, this past 4th of July, I was finally able to have a family photo taken that captured the essence of our love.

An impromptu weekend getaway back to the spot I went after first being diagnosed with cancer, right before I started treatment.  But, this time, I stood there not just with my husband, but also with my two daughters -- who are miracles in their own right, as the doctors all said I would not be able to have children.  I guess I proved them wrong!

So, please take my challenge, and think about what is good in your life, and then share those special moments/memories with family and friends.  And, join me and Welch's in their new movement “Share what’s good™” for your chance to win $5,000.
You can also post your photos to Twitter and Instagram, using the #sharewhatsgood hashtag, so that others can "Share Your Moments."
