"Rockin' Rod is back! For Rod Stewart fans, the wait is finally over. Yesterday, he released a new album, Time. It's his first album of new material in almost twenty years—of course, his hairstyle hasn't changed one bit.

Rod Stewart has spent four decades being a rock star, three being a parent, and has a new album's worth of rollicking stories to tell. It's about Time!

Time in now available at Amazon and iTunes.

2. Can’t Stop Me Now
3. It’s Over
4. Brighton Beach

Stewart rediscovered the spark for songwriting while reviewing his life for his recent memoir.

"Suddenly ideas for lyrics were piling up in my head," he says. "Next thing I knew, I had a song called 'It's Over' about divorce and separation. And now I was getting up in the middle of the night and scrambling for a pen to write things down, which has never happened to me. I finished seven or eight songs very quickly and I still wasn't done, and it became apparent that I would eventually have a whole album of material to record."

Here is a sneak peak at Rod Stewart's new album, Time -- Enjoy!!:

Along with the release of Time, Stewart is set to embark on the European leg of his Live the Life tour on June 1st, while American dates with Steve Winwood will kick off October 17th ."

You can catch Rod Stewart on The Voice on May 8, Good Morning America on May 9, and Live With Kelly & Michael on May 11.

My Thoughts:

While some may laugh at Rod Stewart's hair, which hasn't seemed to have changed in the four decades that he has been around -- you can't deny that his voice is amazing.  He is such a talented musician, and that can be seen with his new album, Time, which released yesterday -- after a more than 20-year gap since his previous album release.  I know that I was not the only patiently waiting for a new album to come, and now that the wait is over -- I can finally get my Rod Stewart fix! :-)

What I loved most about this new CD is that Rod Stewart gets personal with his songs, of which he co-wrote 11 out of the 12 tracks.  Each song gives fans a glimpse into his life. "It's Over" talks about divorce, while "Can't Stop Me Now" is about his struggles trying to make it as a singer back in the day.

I was surprised to see "sexual Religion" on the album, as the rest of the songs are endearing.  But, it was nice to switch it up and add a playful song.  It reminded me of his hit. "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy." where he was playful and fun.

There is something about Rod Stewart's raspy voice that makes a song sound good.  I think he can even sing the phone book and I would love it. :-)  Even though I have only had this album for a few days for review, it has been in full rotation in my car when I am out and about with the girls.  And, when I am sitting at my computer, I have the digital tracks to listen to.  Don't ask me to choose a favorite of the twelve songs, as they are all great!  Rod is definitely back, with his new album "Time." -- It is about TIME!  We have missed you Rod!
