"For many, the return of Spring means melting snow, blooming flowers, and waking up feeling like your head is clogged. With a record-breaking allergy season predicted, it’s time again to deal with the symptoms, including the uncomfortable sinus congestion. This stuffed feeling often leaves many feeling desperate for relief, but many may avoid over-the-counter allergy medicines for fear they will leave them feeling either drowsy or jittery.

So for those with nasal or sinus congestion*, skip the pills and go straight to the nostrils with two relief options from Zicam®.  Rated as five-star products on Drugstore.com, Zicam Intense Sinus ReliefTM and Zicam Extreme Congestion™ let you treat the matter at hand – nasal congestion and sinus pressure – without the common or unwanted side effects of some other over-the-counter allergy medications.

Zicam Intense Sinus Relief provides fast relief for nasal congestion and sinus pressure along with cooling menthol and eucalyptus. The nasal applicator delivers the specially formulated No-Drip Liquid Nasal GelTM to clear nasal passages quickly, shrink swollen membranes and temporarily relieve sinus congestion and pressure. The gel formula means it won’t drip down the back of the throat.  It leaves nasal passages feeling clear for up to twelve hours.

In other cases, extreme congestion and sinus pressure leaves nasal passages feeling dry, swollen and sore. Zicam Extreme Congestion affords fast relief from extreme nasal congestion with soothing aloe vera. Delivered with the same nasal spray applicator, the specially formulated aloe vera No-Drip Liquid Nasal GelTM shrinks swollen membranes and leaves nasal passages clear for up to twelve hours.

My Thoughts:

Everyone in our house suffers from seasonal or year round allergies, so  our house is always stocked with over the counter and prescription allergy medicine and nasal sprays.  But, we are always on the lookout for new products to try to bring relief when the spring allergies hit (which seems to be the worst for everyone).  While many people eagerly await spring to come after a long, cold and dark winter, our family dreads the sinus infections, constant sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, along with the constant need to wipe our runny noses -- thanks to our spring allergies.

Even though many OTC allergy and sinus products we try and use that claim they are non-drowsy, oftentimes make us feel groggy and sleepy. And, while the nasal allergy sprays are easy to use with a simple push or pump of the bottom, they either startle the girls with the gush of medicine shooting into the nose, or the spray get everywhere, even when held to the opening of the nose.  I usually have tissues on hand to wipe up the drips that dribbles out after I spray the nasal mists into my nose.

So, when I recently heard that Zicam had come out with two new gels to help bring fast relief to nasal and sinus congestion, I had to try it out.  I requested the Zicam Intense Sinus Relief, and couldn't wait to try it out.  Now, who would get excited about trying out a nasal gel?  I was!  And, it couldn't have come at a better time, as our allergies were in full swing.  Having never used a nasal gel before, I had to get used to the feeling of it, and how it makes you want to sniff in to catch a good breath.  But, after a few applications, it became second nature.

What I first noticed about this nasal gel was that is was non-dripping.  I didn't have to worry about squiring a spray or applying the gel to my nasal passages, only to have it drip out.  And, I have to say, I felt instant relief, which lasted up to twelve hours.  I could feel my nasal passages opening up and my sinus congestion and pain lessening, which is great news for any allergy sufferer.  I ended up stopping in at our local pharmacy to pick up a bottle of Zicam Intense Sinus Relief for my husband to try, who had been sneezing right alongside me, prior to trying out this nasal gel.  I wanted to see what he thought of this new nasal and sinus congestion relief gel, and hoped it would bring him some relief, as it had done for me.  And, it did!

Now, whenever we feel our seasonal allergies kicking in and need to get more relief than our daily prescribed medicine, we reach for the Zicam Intense Sinus relief gel.  And, within minutes of applying, we can breath easier, and go about our day.
