My Thoughts:

Another Nick Jr. show my daughter Savannah loves is Max and Ruby, which is about brother and sister rabbits, who go through the same ups and downs as most siblings do.  At times they may fight and want to spend time together.  But, then they realize how important family is and that being together and doing things is so much fun.  Ruby often struggles with wanting to include her little brother Max in things, as does my daughter Savannah, with her little sister, Arabella.  But, when she realizes that Arabella can do almost everything she can, and that it is more fun when someone else is playing alongside you, then it is a joy to watch two sisters play nicely. :-)  In  Max's Chocolate Chicken, the siblings go on a backyard Easter Egg Hunt to see how can find the most eggs and win the large chocolate chicken Max finds in the birdbath. Max, like any other toddler, once he sets his eyes on the oversized chocolate chicken, can't concentrate on anything else.  And, while he pretends to look for eggs alongside Ruby, he is only thinking about one thing -- the chocolate chicken and eating it.  But, when Ruby gathers up more eggs than he does, what is he to do?  I will not spoil the ending for you -- you will just have to pick up this new DVD collection to find out. :-)

I will not bore you with a review of Chicken Little and Red Hen DVDs, which are also included in this 3-DVD collection, as I reviewed them in earlier posts, when they released a short time ago. You can read about these DVDs here:

What I will say is that this is a great 3-DVD collection, and really would make for a great Easter basket gift idea, as it combines some of the best Scholastic Storybook Treasures stories to date.  Geared towards children ages 2-7, these animated stories will be enjoyed by both parents and children, and would make for a great family night DVD to watch.
