My Thoughts:

I was so excited to share this new release with my daughters, as I was a huge fan of the Care Bears growing up.  I think I had all the stuffed animals. :-)  So, when I received the DVD yesterday, I couldn't wait for the girls to get up from their nap to surprise with this it.  Having only seen a few of the plush toys my mother had saved for me, that are in their rooms, the girls had no idea what the Care Bears were all about.  But, they were in store for a treat.  So, we cuddled up on the couch and watched this new release, which ran for a little over an hour (88 minutes to be exact).  I was surprised to see Arabella, my youngest, sit through all four episodes.

I think I was more excited to watch this new Care Bears release.  But, by the end of the DVD, I can safely say there are two new Care Bears fans in our house.  Savannah thought they were so cute, and loved calling out the colors of each of the Care Bears.  The story line was easy to follow, and one that little ones will enjoy.   Out of the four episodes, I have to say that the girls thoroughly enjoyed "Emerald Bridge" the most.  In this episode the Care Bears are in search of a hidden landmark -- don't worry I will not spoil the storyline. :-)

In "Sad About You," is about a little girl names Joy, who is sad because her best friend is moving away, and they will not be able to play together again. The Care Bears try everything they can do to cheer her up, but it takes Grumpy to help them realize that they need to empathize with her and understand that it is normal to feel sad when you lose a friend.  Some times you can't be happy about a situation like this, and just need a friend, or group of Care Bears to be there to listen and be there for you.  Really a great story if your child has ever lost a friend due to moving.

As for "Jealous Tea," this episode deals with none of than jealousy.  While at a tea party, the Care Bears take to Grumpy's desserts, rather than Share's.  Share Bear gets very jealous, and has to learn that she can't always have things her way, and that it is normal to feel jealous sometimes.

And, in "Lazy Susan," Susan is supposed to her Share Bear pick special tea leaves for a tea party, but ends up spending all her time on her handheld video game device.  Not only does she ignore Share Bear, but she doesn't follow through on her offer to help Share Bear gather tea leaves, like she had promised.  This episode deals with following through on commitment and managing your time wisely.  I used this episode to relate my oldest daughter Savannah's iPad use, when her little sister wants to play with her.  Many children in today's age of technology will related to this episode.

Overall, I have to say that this new Care Bears DVD is worth picking up to introduce children to the Care Bears, or to share with a Care Bears fan in your house.   We were thoroughly entertained, and will be watching these episodes again and again.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
