Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Usually, I like to start my holiday shopping in July, when they begin announcing what the hot toys of the holiday season will be. I have found that if I pick up these big ticket items before the holiday rush begins, that I have a better chance of getting them for the girls and other children on our shopping list, and don't have to worry about crazy lines, etc. There were a few toys that I had seen online, and knew it would be easier ordering them from online retailers like Amazon and Toys R Us, and take advantage of the free shipping offers they have if yous pend over a certain amount of money. The one toy I knew my daughters would go crazy for was Mega Bloks' new "Lil' Princess" line, which consists of a 3-Story Enchanted Castle, magic carriage and assorted princesses and ponies
Ever since the girls could grab things, they had Mega Bloks building blocks in their hands. And, day in and day out, this brand has not disappointed in offering my girls a creative outlet to explore, build and create wonderful things with their bags of Mega Bloks and building sets. This is not my first review about Mega Bloks, as I have been sharing reviews of them from house parties I have held, as well as when I have had the opportunity to try out new products with my daughters. So, when I was putting together my holiday gift guide for 2012, I knew I wanted to include some wonderful toys from Mega Bloks.

Now mind you Savannah is only 2 1/2 years old, but when she was the mail carrier bringing the box to the door, she must have recognized the logo, as she began yelling "Blocks, blocks." And, before I could get the box open and the samples out onto the table, she snuck the Whirl N Twirl ride on out from under me, and began riding it around the house. In a matter of minutes, she had the secret storage compartment filled with her toys. I wish I had captured her initial reaction to this ride on toy on camera, as it was so cute. She pushed herself around the house singing a song about her Mega Bloks, which she made up on the spot. When I asked her what she was singing, her faced turned red in embarrassment, and she said, "Come on, Mom -- I am having fun!" And, she was, as she spent the better part of the day glued to the Whirl N Twirl ladybug ride on.
I waited to share the Lil' Princess toys with her until her little sister woke up, and was glad that I did, as they had a blast playing with them together. When Arabella was not hugging the little princess dolls and giving them kisses, Savannah was flying them around the house on their magical ponies. Knowing how popular Mega Bloks products are in our house, I was not surprised at how quickly the girls took to the new toys sent for review, and how they have become favorites among their toys. Since receiving only a few days ago, the girls don't go a day without playing with the Lil' Princess castle, carriage and princesses. And, Savannah still can't get enough of the Whirl N' Twirl ladybug ride on, which remains full of some of her precious toys.

Each and every time I see the new toys from Mega Bloks, I think to myself, "Why didn't they have these when I was growing up?" They really are amazing and so much fun to play with. I know, as I love to get down on the floor and build towering pillars and structures, just so the girls can knock them down and giggle. And, I am not alone -- my husband is a fan, too. I have caught him on a few occasions building structures when the girls are napping. He tells me it is a great stress reliever and that he is building these structures to share with the girls when they get up. Sure, sure, sure! :-) I can't wait to pick up a few more Lil' Princess building sets and princesses for the girls from Mega Bloks for the holidays, so that they can create a Lil' Princess world all their own. :-)
