A French Toast Recipe from SUPERPRETZEL Sweet Cinnamon Pretzel! -- And, Review

Last week, I received two boxes of SUPERPRETZEL's newest flavor, Sweet Cinnamon to enjoy with my family.  I don't know about you, but I love pretzels.  Before we had our daughters, my husband and I would take weekend trips to PA, just to get their famous soft pretzels from the local street vendors.  But, when I couldn't travel, and now that we are home with the girls, I love to satisfy my soft pretzel craving with SUPERPRETZEL's line of microwave soft pretzels.

It wasn't until the PR rep contacted me that I knew that SUPERPRETZEL now offered sweet cinnamon flavored pretzels, as I hadn't seen them in the freezer section of my local market.  So, when I opened the box and took the boxes out, I couldn't wait to try them.

In the past, I tried to share my love of these pretzels with my daughter, Savannah, but she would look at them and just walk away.  But, this time, the sweet smell of the cinnamon sugar must have lured her to the table, as she climbed up into her chair and proceeded to lean in for a closer look and smell.  Then, she asked if she could have a piece, and then another, and another. -- until the plate was empty.  So, much for my pretzel treat.   :-)

One of the reasons I had requested to sample this new flavor from SUPERPRETZEL was that I was sent a recipe for Sweet Cinnamon French Toast from the folks at SUPERPRETZEL, which uses this new soft pretzel.  Here is the recipe, in case you want to try it with your family:

Directions:
 - Prepare a usual French Toast mixture using eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla.
- Warm your SUPERPRETZEL Sweet Cinnamon soft pretzels according to the directions on the box.
- Coat both sides of each prepared Sweet Cinnamon soft pretzel and cook on a hot skillet until golden brown on both the top and the bottom.
- Top with syrup or enjoy all on it's own!

At first, I couldnt' see these pretzels being used for a french toast dish.  But, as I was making the recipe, I thought to myself, "Why didn't I think of that?"  And, as it cooked it on the stove top, and began to smell the sweet cinnamon french toast taste, my mouth began to water.  With the first bite, drizzled in maple syrup, I was in heaven.  Thankful the girls were sleeping and my husband was at work when I tried out the recipe, as I didn't have to share it with anyone. :-)  But, since then, I have made this quick and easy breakfast or snack (your choice) for my family, and the plates are always brought to the sink empty.

And, when I am not making this french toast recipe, I am popping these soft pretzels in our microwave for a quick and tasty treat, that the whole family enjoys picking on.  So, if you love soft pretzels or SUPERPRETZEL products, why not give this new flavor a try today?  Look for it in the freezer section of your local grocery store.  I am so happy, as I finally found it at my grocery store, when I was stocking up on Hurricane Sandy supplies.  Besides bread, milk, water and batteries, I made sure we had a few boxes of the plain and cinnamon sugar SUPERPRETZEL products on hand to weather the storm with. :-)
