Closed. Congrats to Denise, Philip and Miranda -- Enjoy your FREE coffee for a year!

I can't tell you how much fun I had this weekend trying out my new Keurig machine.  Yes, I know.  I am probably one of the last few to own this marvelous machine.  But, now I can see why so many people love this brewing machine.

Thanks to Newman's Own Organics, Green Mountain Coffee and McDonald's, I was sent the Keurig Platinum brewing system as part of their Virtual Coffee Tasting that happened this morning at 10AM. The live virtual coffee tasting event featured Nell Newman, president of Newman’s Own Organics along with local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Wayne LeBrun and Green Mountain Coffee experts. The Keurig brewing system was sent as they wanted to make sure those that tuned in virtually could enjoy a cup of Green Mountain Coffee, while learning more about the history of Newman’s Own Organics coffee with McDonald’s in New England, being able to behind-the-scenes info and tour of the Green Mountain roasting plant in Vermont, and learning about the roasting process and taste of Newman’s Own Organics McDonald’s blend.

What a fun morning! Thankfully the girls decided to sleep in late, so I was able to participate in the Livestream without interruption.  I think this was the first morning in a long time that I was able to drink my morning jo hot, and not have to reheat in the microwave or throw out. Yes!

What fascinated me the most about  Newman’s Own Organics coffee and the blend available at McDonald's here in New England is that it was created with New Englanders in mind and our pallets.  All Newman’s Own Organics coffee is double certified, meaning that they are certified organic and certified fair trade.  Not only do they offer delicious tasting organic coffee, but they are also helping the local farmers.  Did you know that the farmers hand pick each and every bean?  This ensures the best quality product, which can be seen when you brew up a cup of Newman’s Own Organics coffee or other blends from Green Mountain coffee, or purchase at your favorite local McDonald's.

Another bonus is that you can pick up a small, medium or large size Newman’s Own Organics coffee at your favorite McDonald's for only $1, all day, every day!  How can you go wrong with that price?!!!  When I am out and about with the girls, I love being able to go through the drive through and pick up a hot cup of jo in the AM, and then if I am lucky enough to be out in the afternoons, I try and stop for an iced coffee. Yum!

What a great way to spend the morning, and as I am writing up this post, I am having another cup of coffee, which I brewed up in my new Keurig.

If you are interested in watching the virtual coffee tasting segment, here is the video of event to enjoy --

For those readers who live on the East Coast, participating McDonald's will be serving up FREE small cups of coffee in celebration of National Coffee Day, which is Sept. 29th. So, head on over to McDonald's and pick up a hot cup of jo today.

Three (3) lucky readers will win a punch card that can be used at participating McDonald's in New England, excluding Fairfield County, CT, thanks to McDonald's. To enter, watch the video from this AM's virtual coffee tasting and send me an email, telling me something you learned, which I didn't share above. The first three responses I receive will win FREE McDonald's Coffee for a year (1xweek). Good luck!

Disclosure: I was sent a Keurig Brewing System and sample K-Cups as part of the Virtual Coffee Tasting event. The views stated above are mine and mine alone.
