Feature Friday -- School of Wash, Handmade Bath Products (Review and Giveaway)

This past Monday I shared my Spotlight on Mom interview with Rebekah Davis with you.  If you missed it, click here to read it now -- http://www.inspiredbysavannah.com/2012/09/spotlight-on-mommy-rebekah-david-of.html.  Today, I wanted to share more about my experience with her body washes, as well as tell you more about her product offering for the entire family (Note: Pet wash coming soon).

Like I said in my post on Monday, Rebekah started her business as a result of her 10 year old daughter wanting to use more grown up bath products.  Not liking the products available or wanting her daughter to smell too grown up, she created her own line of bath products, and thus her business, School of Wash began.  Even though Rebekah's business is less than an year old, she had continued to add products, beyond her kids bath line.  Now, moms can create fun scented bath and body products to use when they can find time to shower and pamper themselves.  I can't tell you the last time I was able to take a long bath.  Nowadays, I am lucky if I can hop in and out of the shower before the girls get up.  If they get up early, then I have to wait until their afternoon nap time to jump in the shower.

So, when Rebekah sent along two body wash samples for me to use, I used this review as an excuse :-) to take a few long showers, just to try them out.  The hardest part of this review, besides convincing my husband to let me shower longer, was choosing the scent for the body wash.  At School of Wash, Rebekah offers over 200 scents that you can choose from, which she can create bath and body products for kids and adults, lip balm and gloss, shaving products, perfume and room and linen spray for the home and now tarts and oil.  All our products are handmade and delivered fresh to your door.  All School of Wash products are paraben-free, sulfate-free, SLS free, sodium chloride free, no dyes or preservatives.

Hard to decide, huh?  When I finally narrowed it down, I had Rebekah send along body wash in Neapolitan Ice Cream and Banana Coconut.  I couldn't wait for the samples to arrive, and when they did was amazed at how great they smelled.  I have always loved buying fruity smelling bath and body products, but have been disappointed when I finally use them only to find they don't smell like the scents they are supposed to, they leave my skin feeling oily from the essential oils used to make them, or don't leave my skin smelling yummy. :-)  As soon as I popped open the lid, I could instantly smell the scents and couldn't wait to hop in the shower to use.

When my husband arrived home from work, I told him I had to try out these School of Wash samples, and would need time to shower that night.  After we finally got the girls to bed for the night, I finally took a long, relaxing bath (I can't tell you the last time I was able to take a bath -- just that it was before the girls were born).  Not wanting to smell overly fruity, I ended up trying out the Banana Coconut body wash first that night. Just like the scent profile stated on Rebekah's website, this body wash smelled like banana cream pie topped with airy peaks of coconut meringue. Mmm!!!

Needing to try out the Neapolitan Ice Cream body wash, I used the following evening to take a shower.  Like the banana coconut body wash, this, too, left my skin feeling clean and smelling great.  This scent smelled like creamy vanilla ice cream, with sweet strawberry syrup and rich chocolate ganache.  Just be warned, don't use this on an empty stomach or when you are craving sweets.  I ended up getting out of the shower, just to have a bowl of ice cream. :-)

SOW Handmade Room & Linen SpraySOW Handmade Soy Wax Breakaway Tarts

Overall, I loved both scents sent from School of Wash and can't wait to try out more of Rebekah's scents.  I am especially looking forward to trying out her room and linen spray and tart warmers.  These would also make for great holiday or housewarming gifts.  I'll be sure to add School of Wash on my wish list for Santa this year. :-)

So, if you have a tween or teen who keeps asking for more grown up bath and body products, like Rebekah's daughter did, now you can make the happy when you pick them up handmade bath products from School of Wash.  Good luck at choosing your scents.  With over 200 scents, it will be hard not picking up a handful of products to try. :-)
