SYNOPSIS

In this spectacular action-adventure, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) is Snow White, the only woman in the land fairer than the evil queen Ravenna (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron). Ravenna wants nothing more than to destroy her young rival, but she doesn’t know that Show White has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) the queen dispatched to kill her. Together with a handsome prince (Sam Claflin) enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power, they assemble an armed force to recapture the kingdom. This breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders is, in the words of Shawn Edwards, Fox-TV, “A film that soars with creativity, stylistic genius and amazing battle scenes.”

My Thoughts:

Right now, either you love or hate Kristen Stewart, after the news of her cheating on Robert Pattinson broke a few weeks ago.  But, you should put your differences aside and watch this upcoming release, as it is great.  Not only does Kristen Stewart shine in the fine, but to me, Charlize Theron stole the show as the even queen, Ravenna.

This film is great as a date night film, as well as a girls night in film, as it offers a stellar cast and action scenes men will enjoy and women can bear watching.  Oh, and did I tell you that Chris Hemsworth is in it?  Yep, now it is definitely worth watching. :-)  Shh, don't tell my husband. :-)

Usually I hate when movie studios try and remake classics, especially beloved fairy tales.  But, this new adaptation of this classic really does it justice and breathes a new life into the film.  Audiences both young and old will enjoy this soon to be hit, and will find themselves raving about it with friends and family.  I know, as I can't stop talking about it among friends.  For those who missed it when it came out in theaters, which for many of my mommy friends was all of them, they are all excited about its release to DVD and Blu-Ray next week.

So, if you missed this film, or want to add an end of summer movie to your family's movie collection, Snow White and the Huntsman is one to consider.  You will be captivated by the storyline and action sequences from start to finish.  The visual effects of this film alone are worth watching and appreciating.  And, the bonus features are not to be missed.  My favorite was the Around the Kingdom: 360° Set Tour and ability to play the digital copy on our iPad.
