Synopsis:

Manage Your Problems, Big and Small, Every Day

Inspiring Chicken Soup for the Soul stories and accessible leading-edge medical information from Dr. Jeff Brown of Harvard Medical School. We all have stress in our lives. What differentiates us is how we handle it. The combination of these stories, from people who have learned how to manage stress, and Dr. Brown's practical advice, will have you wondering what you were worried about! Who knew there were so many easy ways to manage your stress?

My Thoughts:

With summer upon us, now is a great time to shed some of that unwanted stress we have been carrying around, and enjoy the nicer weather and time with family.  I find that summer is the season I look forward to most, as I spend the weekends traveling and spending time with my family.  It is great to either lounge by the pool, or pile in the car and take a drive.  I have many vivid memories as a child of summers spent with my family.  And, now with two daughters of my own, I want to make the most of the nice weather, and be outdoors with them as much as possible.  What I don't want, however, is to carry along stress, which only acts as a downer when I am with them.

Thanks to a recent Chicken Soup for the Soul book, Say Goodbye to Stress: Manage Your Problems Big and Small, Every Day, I have found inspiration and coping skills, to help melt away unwanted stress.  It is one thing to go around feeling like you are the only one with problems.  But, as you read this book, filled with great medical advice and inspirational stories, you will feel comfort in knowing that others have walked in similar footsteps.

In today's uneasy economy, I found the chapter, Preventing Monetary Meltdown to be very inspiration.  Money is usually the root of most stress in people's lives, and also causes friction and distance among couples.  I know, as my husband and I went through a rough patch, when I decided to stay home and raise our daughters.  We went from a 2-person income to only my husband's.  This ended up being stressful for the both us, until we sat down, reworked some of our financial goals, make adjustments in our spending, etc.  We found ourselves communicating more openly about our financials, which in turn, made end of the month bill paying easier to handle.

If you are looking for a way to get rid of some of your unwanted stress, in a healthy way, then why not pick up a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul, Say Goodbye to Stress: Manage Your Problems Big and Small, Every Day.
