Did You Know It Is National Hot Dog Month? -- We've Been Celebrating With Udi's (Review)

One of the best parts of summer is being able to dine outdoors after grilling up a tasty meal.  Most always on the menu is hot dogs, as Savannah is going through a hot dog phase and could eat them every day if we let but.  Even though we cut up her hot dogs into little pieces to prevent choking, she always has a hot dog roll to eat on the side.  Maybe Savannah knows that it is "National Hot Dog" Month.  :-)  Either way, we have been enjoying Udi's Gluten-Free products, which were recently sent to me to enjoy with my family.

I wish you could have seen the box.  Before I took take photos of all the goodies sent, Savannah pulled all the rolls and treats out, and climbed into the box. :-)  Kids!!  The kind folks at Udi's Gluten-Free sent along their Gluten-Free hot dog and whole grain and classic gluten-free hamburger rolls, in addition to an assortment of snacks including chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies and brownie bites.

Udi’s Gluten Free Foods, the #1 gluten free baked goods brand, revolutionized the category when it introduced the first gluten-free bread that tastes and looks like “real” bread.  In addition, Udi's products contain no artificial ingredients, no GMOs and very few preservatives.  The box couldn't have come at a better time, as we had scheduled a BBQ for family and friends to celebrate our daughter's 2nd birthday the next day.

My husband and I have been enjoying Udi's Gluten- Freebread products since moving to Connecticut five years ago.  But, my parents and other guests hadn't tried this brand.  I wasn't sure what my parents would think of the hot dog rolls and buns, which were made of whole wheat and gluten-free, as they are used to eating enriched white bread.  They were hesitant at first, but gave them a try.  Let's just say that they didn't stop at one hot dog and cheeseburger.  :-)  By the end of the cookout, everything that was sent my way to enjoy, was gone.  All I was left with was the box, which Savannah now uses to round up and store her toys, and empty containers and bags.

Everyone loved how fresh and soft the rolls and buns were.  As for the cookies and brownie bites, this was the first time I had tried them (as I didn't know they offered products beyond bread).  I loved how the cookies were soft and tasted like they were just baked.  With each bite of the chocolate chip cookie, you got a mouthful of milk chocolate, which melted in your mouth.  I am not a fan of cookies that crumble, and loved how this cookie stayed in one piece, allowing me to enjoy every last bite.  I can't wait to buy more of the chocolate chip cookies and brownie bites.  My husband preferred the oatmeal raisin cookies, while Savannah found it hard to choose a favorite.

I am so happy that I was able to celebrate "National Hot Dog" month thanks to Udi's.  Even though the month is almost over, doesn't mean you can't celebrate your love for hot dogs all summer long.  Make sure the next time you grill out that you have a bag of Udi's Gluten-Free hot dog rolls or hamburger buns on hand.  And, surprise everyone with their cookies and brownie bites for dessert.  Yum!
