When will this rain go away?  It feels like it has been raining for days.  Yes, it is good for the flowers, but it is getting old being couped up in the house with the girls, and not being able to go outside.  To think we are in June, as the temperatures feel like April.  I had put the heat on the past couple of days, as it was raw outside and cold in the house.  Not only does Savannah want to get outside and play with her toys, but my husband and I want to try out the new fire pit we received from AllBackyard.com.  This is the first fire pit to own, and I have to say it was a cinch to put together. From the time we took it out of the box, to the time it was placed on our deck, less than 15 minutes elapsed.  This beautiful UniFlame Oil Rubbed Bronze Outdoor Fire Pit looks great on our deck.

As we were putting it together, I began to reminisce about my childhood and how during the summers I would sit for hours next to my father at our summer home, as we had a fire, and I roasted marshmallows.  I remembered how we would trek into the woods and carry out branches, twigs and pine cones, to help start the fire.  Well, if you ask my dad, he would tell you that I would drag out entire tree limbs, which he would either cut up, or drag back into the woods. :-)  Either way, we had a blast and I know now that I have this fire pit, I can re-create some of these memories with my family, as well as enjoy fires with my dad when he comes to visit.

But, with all this rain, all I can do is look from the window at this fire pit, soaking up all the rain.  Hopefully before Father's Day I will be able to try it out.  I want to get a feel for this fire pit, and then surprise my dad with a fire when he comes to visit over Father's Day weekend.  Crossing my fingers that the rain will go away soon and hold off over the holiday weekend. Stay tuned, as I will share how it goes, once I am able to get a rip roaring fire going in my new fire pit, thanks to the folks at AllBackYardFun.com.  Thinking back on my childhood, I had great conversation with my Dad around the fire, and can't wait to have family and friends over to enjoy this fire pit.
