Now Available on DVD: Suing the Devil from the Bridgestone Multimedia Group (Review)

Suing the Devil

Summary:

Luke O'Brien, a washed-up salesman turned night law student, decides to sue Satan for $8 trillion. On the last day before Luke files a default judgment, Satan appears in the courtroom to defend himself with a legal team of ten of the country's best trial lawyers. Armed with Scripture and conviction, Luke fights an epic, spiritual battle against Satan (Malcolm McDowell), while the whole world watches the trial of the century play out on LegalTV.

Compelling performances heighten the power of this courtroom drama, which was awarded the Dove Foundation's highest honor of five doves. A high-concept, faith-based legal thriller, Suing the Devil also features the hit song “Mighty to Save” from Hillsong Music.

My Thoughts:

If the movie title doesn't intrigue you, then the cover art will.  Based on previous positive reviews I had read about this movie, I was looking forward to seeing this film from the Bridgestone Multimedia Group.  I am a huge fan of those legal drama shows on television, as I love watching legal battles play out on the screen, as I try to play a member of jury, and determine who is guilty and who isn't.  In this film, I watched as Luke O'Brien tries to sue Satan.  Yes, you read that right -- Satan.  Through the use of scripture and conviction, Satan is put on trial, and needs to defend himself for his actions.  This courtroom based drama will have you wondering what you would do or think, if you were a member of the jury in a court case against Satan.  I couldn't get over how powerful a film this was, and loved the cast of characters in the movie, including the legal team, who really made you feel like you were watching a real court trial.  This is definitely worth viewing. I can see why it has won praise and the Dove Foundation's highest honor of five doves. If you enjoy faith-based thrillers, or are just looking for a gripping film to watch, then you will love Suing the Devil.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
