Repurpose Insulated Hot Cups -- Product Review

Say hello to the greenest coffee cup in the world. The technology behind the Repurpose insulated hot cup keeps hot beverages warmer longer, and prevents heat from escaping the cup while protecting the user from burning their hands without the use of sleeves, “jackets” or double-cupping! Traditional insulated cups are made by adding additional layers of paper, but the Repurpose insulated hot cup does the same, better, with our patented insulation material on a single wall cup. Our insulated cup is also chlorine free and uses soy-based inks. Best of all the product generates less CO2 than a traditional paper cup when produced due to it’s Ingeo lining, and can be composted in 90 days in a commercial composter, offering the greenest possible alternative to Styrofoam and all other non-compostable insulated cups.

My Thoughts:

As a busy mom on the go, I am always running out of the house in the AM with a cup of tea or coffee, on my way to a play date or doctor's appointment with the girls.  I can't tell you how many times I have taken my plastic travel cups, only to forget them.  And, I hate using Styrofoam cups.  So, where does that leave me?  Now, I don't have to wonder how I will transport my hot beverage, thanks to these hot insulated cups from Repurpose.  I have been using these cups for the past week and love them.  I even ended up stopping by Bed Bath & Beyond prior to Easter, to pick up a few packages and bring to my Mom's house.  Instead of the paper cups she usually uses, family and friends were able to try out these cups.  They couldn't stop raving about them.  And, they agreed with me, that the hot beverage stayed hotter in these insulated cups, compared to the other disposable cups, or even plastic cups.  They also liked not having to worry about burning their hands while holding the cup, or the need to double cup or use a carrier.  The best part about this hot insulated cup was that when you are done, is that it is 100% compostable.  So, not only are you getting to drink a hot beverage with ease and have it be kept warmer longer, but you are also helping the environment once you dispose of the cup, as it will break down (meaning no landfill build up).

If you are busy mom on the go, who usually reaches for paper or Styrofoam insulated cups, why not consider switching to Repurpose cups today?  I know you will agree that these cups are great!

About Repurpose:
Repurpose was founded in 2009 by a group of young environmental entrepreneurs, looking for quality solutions to the problem of single use petroleum based plastic products. After searching and finding few quality and cost competitive compostable solutions, they decided to manufacture their own. Repurpose was born with its mission to replace all single use disposable plastics with high quality, innovative, plant based alternatives. Repurpose makes products from plants, not petroleum, using Ingeo™ resin and meet ASTM 6400 compostability standards.

Repurpose products are now available to consumers and to businesses allowing everyone the opportunity to lessen their dependence on oil, lower their carbon footprint, and find non-toxic, safe alternatives to plastic.

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.

  1. They sound great. I hate using and wasting styrofoam too, and I think more of our disposable products should be recycled or biodegradable.
