My Thoughts:

We are big Shrek fans in our house -- mainly because of the character, Puss in Boots, played by Antonio Banderas.   So, when they decided to do spin off and feature Puss in Boots in his own animated film, my husband and I were front and center to see it.  This was one of the few movies we did see in the theaters, and then again this past week, when it arrived on DVD on the 24th.

I am always amazed at the animated films put out by Dreamworks, and this film, which received mixed reviews from critics and moviegoers, has definitely found its way into our movie collection.  Some die-hard Shrek fans didn't like seeing the spin off with only Puss in Boots, while others praised this witty film.  As part of my review, I was sent a viewing kit, which included masks, popcorn, a glass bottle we filled with cold milk, along with magic beans and chocolate.  What a sweet treat and fun way to enjoy this popular film with the family.  Savannah just loved pretending to be Puss in Boots with her mask.

I love how Dreamworks was able to weave classic fairytale characters like Humpty Dumpty and Jack and Jill into this comedic and entertaining film.  Parents will enjoy the one liners that are slipped in for their entertainment, while children will fall in love with the loveable and playful Puss in Boots.  Oh, and did I mention the dance scenes in this film.  Get ready to tap your feet and smile at these dance sequences.  Savannah hopped of the couch and danced along to each.  While she enjoyed the music and animated, the overall plot of the movie will entertain children ages 6+, as well as adults who love animated films from Dreamworks.

And, as an added bonus, you get a compilation DVD, which was not seen in theaters and picks up right were the Puss in Boots movie ends.  So,  for the price of one movie, you get to enjoy two adventures featuring the loveable Puss in Boots. With Easter right around the corner, why not consider picking up this DVD combo pack to share with your Puss in Boots and Shrek fans.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
