Summary:

Starring Shawn Carter from High School Musical, Scout Camp is a family comedy about the traditions and antics a Boy Scout troop experiences during a week at camp. When the Fire Dragon patrol and their supportive Scout Master, Kerry (Kirby Heyborne, Heaven Is Waiting), head to prestigious Camp Rakhouta, they expect to have the time of their lives. However, when the legendary spirit stick goes missing, the camp's entire livelihood is threatened. Now, the Fire Dragons, led by York Hayes (Carter), must do whatever it takes to find the stick, return it, and restore the legacy of the camp.

Written and directed by Garrett Batty, Scout Camp is a humorous DVD full of truths about a time-honored tradition. The DVD features an original soundtrack, including the hit song "Born to Be a Scout" by Alex Boyé.

My Thoughts:

This is a great movie to watch with your family. Or, if you have a son in Boy Scouts, why not sure with the leader and offer a group showing of this film?  Based on  his own experiences and memories of boy scout summer camp,  first-time feature filmmaker Garrett Batty does an amazing job in engaging young audiences in the fun, action packed movie.  But, beware -- if you son has never been to summer camp, after seeing this movie, they want me!

This movie flows beautifully, and will keep the entire family engaged from start to finish.  And, with the inclusion of  Shawn Carter, playing the leader of the Fire Dragons, fans of High School Musical will enjoy watching this film for Carter.  Carter does a great job as scout leader, leading his boy scout troop, the Fire Dragons Patrol, on an adventure to remember.  They have to track down the spirit stick and bring it back to the camp, in order to restore the legacy of the camp.  Will they find the spirit stick?  What will they encounter along the way?  Will they experience a summer to remember?  You will have to pick up this family-friendly movie to find out for yourself.   We loved this movie, and know you will, too!

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from Bridgestone Multimedia Group in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
