Holiday Gift Giving Guide: Gift Ideas for Boys from Hasbro

  • Bop-It! XT

(Approximate Retail Price: $24.99; Ages: 8 and up)

Bop-It! is back and still calling the shots. Bop-It! XT adds three all-new commands, now challenging players to “Bop it,” “Pull it,” “Twist it,” “Flick It,” “Spin It” and “Shake It." A head-to-head game play mode also adds an extra challenge to please competitive gamers.

My Thoughts:

What a challenging and fun game.  I was sent a sample of this product, and even though it is geared towards the younger audience, parents can get in on the fun as well.  This is a great toy to pick up and play with your child, with the head-to-head game play mode.  I guarantee that you will try and not want to put it down – it is that much fun, and addicting!!!

(Approximate Retail Price: $19.99 & $7.99; Ages: 5 & up)
Kids can now pretend to be their favorite Asgardian and summon the power of THOR!  Hasbro’s THOR LIGHTNING HAMMER delivers a great role-play experience, allowing fans to recreate the on-screen action of the upcoming film, THOR.  The replica of THOR’S signature weapon is fully equipped with electronic battle sounds and a launching projectile. Requires three “AAA” batteries, included.

Helping to complete the THOR role-play experience is Hasbro’s THOR HELMET.  Styled after the Asgardian’s iconic wing-tipped helmet, the role-play toy lets kids pretend to be the mighty hero.

  • G.I. JOE 12” U.S. Army Paratrooper

(Approximate retail price: $24.99; Ages: 5 & up)

New to the 12” G.I. JOE line is the U.S. Army Paratrooper.  The highlight of the 12” figure collection, this figure comes equipped with a working parachute, authentic uniform and gear insignia, and a full array of accessories.

My Thoughts:

I also received this product to review, and was excited as my husband never had a G.I. Joe growing up in El Salvador, as they were too expensive.  So, when I received this, I wrapped it up and gave it to him, as an early Christmas gift.  You should have saw his eyes light up, and the big smile he had on his face.  It was like he was a kid again. And, like any kid, when he read that this toy had a working parachute, he had to try it out for himself.  So, instead of leaving the toy in the box, like most adults would and save as a collector’s item, he tore open the box and began playing around with the doll.

My husband couldn’t stop raving about the toy and ended up bringing it to work, to keep at his desk.  So, as you can see, this toy would make for a great gift for both boys and their dads!

(Approximate Retail Price: $9.99; Ages: 8 and up)
