Thanksgiving is right around the corner – are you preparing your menu? Every year, I have had my parents down and have either cooked or had our meal catered. This year, because we will have a newborn in the house, I have chosen to have our meal catered. Even though the meal will be catered, my mom always makes my paternal grandmother’s famous stuffing, and I like to make homemade cranberry orange relish and another stuffing (usually a wild rice or sausage stuffing). Leading up to the holiday, I am always on the lookout for new stuffing and side dish recipes to try out and add to the meal, as it is always nice to cook up sides and have the house smelling nice

So, when I came across Mrs. Cubbison’s and had the opportunity to try out their 2 new products, Multigrain Stuffing with Cranberries and Crispy Onions, I couldn’t wait to try them out. So, this past weekend I cooked a whole chicken and used the multigrain stuffing with cranberries to make their Apple and Walnut Stuffing (Click here for recipe from Mrs. Cubbison’s) and their crispy onions to make Mrs. Cubbison’s Country Green Beans with crispy onions on top (Click here for their recipe) as side dishes to the meal. It was so quick and easy to make the stuffing, and both products tasted great. My husband thought that I had made the stuffing from scratch. He especially loved the cranberries mixed in with the apples and walnuts. After we finished the meal, he asked if I would be including this new version of stuffing to our holiday menu. Usually he is picky when it comes to stuffing dishes, so after hearing him rave about the stuffing, I knew that I had found my stuffing dish to include at this Thanksgiving’s dinner. And, as for the crispy onions, I have since picked up another bag at the grocery store and used them this even as a topping on our twice baked potatoes – boy, did it add flavor and crunch! This will be a staple I will have in the pantry to add to side dishes going forward.
